Sommerweizen!

Hazy straw. Bright happy banana and malts on the nose with hints of nail polish phenol. Slightly spritzy. Wheaty body with light pear esters and a hint of banana. Clean, refreshing example.

Bottle from Bottle Barn. Hazy golden color with a nice white head. Aromas of banana and spice. Yea. Near medium body with frothy spritzy carbonation. It’s just a bit watery, but the flavor of banana is firm, and there’s some grain and decent clove. Definitely an ok hefe. Goes a bit astringent in the finish.

11.2 ounce bottle from Asheville Wine Market. Pours a hazy orangish yellow with a medium head. Good head retention and decent lacing. Aroma is strong citrus as well as bread and caramel. Taste is very bready with notes of yeast, citrus and stone fruits. Medium bodied and very drinkable.

Bottle: Cloudy, pale golden coloured, huge fluffy white head; yeasty, citrus-fruity nose with an illusion of hops; moderate sweetish-sourish flavour, rather light bodied; a little tartness shows up in the sweetish-sourish-orangey finish. A pleasant and refreshing Weizen.........

(bottle) Cloudy, hazy yellow coloured, effervescent hue with a big foamy white head. Aromatic sweet and chalky banana-fruity wheat aroma. Sweet flavour, lively carbonated, almost fizzy mouthfeel. Strong wheat-malty and banana-fruity taste, quite sharp yeasty and bitter spritzy finish. A rough Hefeweizen, not very complex but clean and tasty.

Bottle:   Hazy straw, a little dirty, HUGE fluffy white head, light lacing, little to no carbonation.   This one smells delicious, loads of Banana and Cloves.   Its about two feet away from me and I can easily smell it from here.   Lots of Banana on the tongue, some Clove, certainly wheaty.   Quite airy and spritzy, not as heavy as other examples.   A light and flavorful example for sure, but easily more bubbley than others.   Refreshing, and one that would really work well on a hot day.   *BURP*   I would prefer it a little less airy, but as is I still find it pretty damn tasty.
