nate2g (1548) - Boomtown!, - DEC 26, 2008
Draught at Kaltenberg Sorozo, Budapest. Rough notes from July 08. Dark brown with reddish hues, creamy tanned head. Aroma is of sweet malt and caramel. Flavour has the malt sweetness with some mild caramel and nuts. Medium bodied and short finish. An OK dunkel but nothing exceptional.

Koelschtrinker (7066) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - DEC 18, 2011

Draught at the brewpub. Dark copper colour with ok head. Light sulphury nose and there - vinegar. Vinegar also dominates the flavour, and it takes over. Tap line problem.

gunnar (2646) - Sandnes, NORWAY - JUL 31, 2010
On tap at Kaltenberg Sörözö, Budapest. Pours black as Coke with a big tanned head. Aroma of fresh sour yeast. Taste is almost identical as the Szuretlen, fresh yeasty sourness. Lacks a lot to be a dunkel. or at least a good one.

luttonm (965) - Belgrade, SERBIA - MAY 25, 2010
Rosy brown wih full creamy, off white head. Draft at the restauran. Malty slightly bitter nose and sip. body is lighter than i would think, but fnisishes with a nice coasting. Lots of roasty, syrupy malting but overall lighter and weaker than I’d like. A bit sour-alc on finish.

garza (480) - Oslo (NO), Caracas (VE), VENEZUELA - MAY 8, 2010
Cramy top, dough and yeastie aroma. Red brown colour. Medium sweetness and lightly bitter in the taste. Light body, medium astringent after taste. Better than the Helles.

inbirraveritas (799) - Budapest, HUNGARY - APR 30, 2010
Draught at the pub. It had a dark brown colour with a medium, fine pored head on its top. Mainly yeasty nose with notes of roasted malt. The start was tiny crisp, the taste was sweet, flavour was toasty. The aroma was dominated by the yeast, the roasted notes were in the background. The finish was in spite of that more toasty/spicy and then dry, which remained in a pleasant coffee-liked aftertaste. The brews body was medium, texture was slick. This one becomed better for me, than the Vienna one.

ladnewton (917) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 7, 2009
Draught at Kalternberg, Budapest on 4th and 9th August 2007. Black and very flavoursome - malty and delicately sweet at first, but with a dry finish of moderate duration. Pleasant enough, and certainly stands up to other beers available in Budapest.

MartinT (6350) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 8, 2009
UPDATED: JAN 18, 2009 My Bottom Line:
Toasted malts and tight toffee sweetness are ably dried out by roastiness in this überclean and crisp Dunkel.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam protects the dark brown.
-Some cherries are tasted once in a while.
-I too, like Armando, believe this beer is the Vilagos with added caramel malt extract.
-The mouthfeel is lean and very approachable.
-Some roasted malt bitterness finishes it all.
-The flavor profile reminds of pumpernickel bread, which is also made with added caramel...

On tap at the brewpub.
