3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Marko (3166) - Split, - APR 12, 2008
Draught at the brewpub. This is the one, I guess. Didn’t understand the waiter’s pronounciation of the english name... he wrote down "vörös ászok" and "szüretten" so this is it I guess. Lovely colour, red, slightly murky. Thick, persistent small white head. The nose didn’t exactly woo me. Caramel and some yeastiness. The taste is dominated by hops, which are a bit metallic in dull in my opinion. A touch watery overall, but with a lovely, if weak nice fruity malty presence. Yeah, red berries I guess. Elegant. Quite nice and drinkable, especially when compared to what lurks in the stores, but I hoped for more... seemed to me that it wasn’t in peak condition though. I’ll try it agian when I’m in Budapest.
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 mattphilips (747) - Budapest, HUNGARY - JUN 2, 2011
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 rickgordon (3764) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - MAR 8, 2011
Draught at the brewpub.
Charneol colour with ok head. Light sulphur nose with a dash of malt and fruitiness. Soft creamy mouthfeel, yet light. Low malt profile and bit empty. Light phenolic with jellyish body. Estery, like red apples. Short flavour with low bitterness.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 gunnar (2646) - Sandnes, NORWAY - JUL 31, 2010
On tap at Kaltenberg Sörözö, Budapest. Pours unclear light amber with a big creamy off-white head. Sourish aroma, yeasty. Taste is the same fresh yeasts with some sour notes and a dry moderate bitter finish.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 luttonm (965) - Belgrade, SERBIA - MAY 25, 2010
Another rull rich looking beer from this pub, the consistency is nice. Manhoghany brown look with tall creamy of white head. Nose is faint hopes and amber malts. Very smooth body with robust hoppy-bitter. Red-amber for sure, some molasses-sweet, bittersweet. Well rounded flavor, Very good and fresh. Reminds of fresh hop beers, sour and sweaty bitterness.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 inbirraveritas (799) - Budapest, HUNGARY - APR 30, 2010
Csapolva a sörözőben.
Színe szép borostyán, tetején egy közepes, de tömött habbal.
Illata elsősorban élesztős, kis malátával a háttérben.
Enyhe csípősséggel kezd, íze visszafogottan karamellás, gyümölcsös.
Aromájában sajna az élesztő dominál, mely elnyomja a karamellás jegyeket, befejezése picit fűszeres.
Teste könnyed, frissítő, textúrája sima, összességében kellemes.
Kár, ezért a savanykás, élesztős túlsúlyért...
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 nate2g (1548) - Boomtown!, AUSTRALIA - DEC 26, 2008
Draught at Kaltenberg Sorozo, Budapest. Rough notes from July 08. Pours a deep amber with a medium head. Good malt aroma with underlying fruity notes. The malts come through nicely in the flavour with a subtle berry taste. Medium bodied and nice finish. An easy drinking beer.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 armando629 (1997) - Budapest, HUNGARY - JAN 19, 2008
Better than the filtered one. Richest aroma, complex flavour. Beautiful amber-hazy color under a medium head. You can drink it easy, but it has a characteristic malt taste. Prefer that one, this is the best from the three various beer of the brewpub!
