Thanks Jonas! Nicely hazy reddish-brown. Pleasingly rich malt nose with a toffee accent and just a hint of dark fruits. Very rich, decadent bock. Toffeeish, dark sugars and subtle fruit accents. Very smooth. A compelling bock.

Bottle, thanks to joss (Jonas) for sharing. Lovely warm russet red color, slight haze, barely any head. Smells delightfully sweet and fruity. Bocky malts with lots of apples and berries, even strawberries. A delicious aroma. Full on sweet malt-forward and bready but clean. Really enjoyed this one.

Bottled@random beerplace in Bamberg. Reddish amber colour with small beige head. Aroma is malts, alcohol and some mild earthy and bready notes. Flavour is quite earthy and some bready malty notes as well. Alcohol gives a certain burn as well. Feels like this one had passed it’s prime a bit (didn’t see the BBE on the bottle though).

Bottled 33cl. Courtesy of joss. It pours a mahogany beer with a nice small beige head. Malt accentuated aroma with hints of boiled vegetables, mothballs, pumpernickel, roquefort, raisins, fennel, alcohol and wax. Some marmite in the taste. Extremely sweet with hints of wax, roquefort, raisins, fennel and pumpernickel. Very low bitterness. Full bodied, faintly sour. Delicate lacework. Warming alcoholic finish which leaves some residual sugars accompanied by a marmite reminiscence. I am not a fan of Doppelbocks. Thanks a lot joss!

Dark red beer with a small head. The bottle was one month overdue and the beer showed already some aging. Caramel and chocolate flavour combined with some dark fruits.

330 ml bottle. From Germany. Deep reddish brown colour with thin head. Aroma: caramel, chocolate and nuts. Flavour is not so easily categorized. Caramel sweetness, chocolate, liquorice and malts. Maybe too easy to drink for a 9% Bock.

Bottle @ Café de Paas. Dark reddish brown beer, beige head. Aroma of caramel, malts and chocolate. Flavour of malts, caramel and chocolate, faintly bitter finish. Could have been better with a bit more body, but very nice nevertheless.
