The bottle looks really good, the beer in the glass also. Fine brown head. Tastes not as strong as exspected, constant malty, finish a little bit smoky. Very drinkable doppelbock. Well done! cgarvieuk (2119), Edinburgh, Scotland Jun 25, 2008 Bottle at home ... deep red brown ... rich yeast dark fruit nose ... Toffee malts some raisins ... little sweet ... even a touch barley wine ... bit over sweet in end MiP (4679), Flensburg, Germany Jun 22, 2008 Bottle at ÅBF08. Roasted, sweet malt aroma. The flavour also has some roast, sweet malt. Good alcohol level. Clear brown colour. No head. Nice hint of lagering. Maria (3738), Thisted, Denmark Jun 5, 2008 Dark mahogany with a red hue. The aroma has a malty sweetness, notes of roasted malt and caramel. The flavour has sweetness, notes of roasted malt, caramel, candy sugar. It’s pretty intense, but I think it’s vanishing rather quickly. It hides the alcohol extremely well!
