COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Archa Beer is by nature suitable for archiving. It is made from roasted barley and three types of barley malt (Pilsener malt, smoked malt, malt and caramel malt, also known as chocolate malt). To achieve the bitterness and aroma we use special types of hops (Spicy Chalenger, Northen Brewer), which are significantly different from the classical Saaz hops, used in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Beer matures at a constant temperature of 2 şC up to 11 months, which is unique in Slovakia. Beer is served with sweet desserts, as well as with aromatic cheese. Optimal temperature for drinking is 12 - 14 şC.

330 ml swingtop thanks to Santa from Slovakia. Pours a pure black color with a medium deep brown head. A slightly sour lacto nose with light coffee. The flavor is dry cocoa, very noticeable sour cherry, roast, metal, more fruit, earthy dry finish with dark chocolates, tobacco and roast. Quite nice, unusual. The sourness will put off some people, but it’s not a major negative to me. A somewhat slick palate. Very nice.

Bottle 330ml. w. swing top.

Clear dark black brown colour with a huge, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, licorice, chocolate, soy sauce notes. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, roasted, chocolate, alcohol. IMO a bit messy and unbalanced. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120817]

33cl bottle @ ZZT V. Pitch black, blackest I’ve ever seen beer with a small brown head. Smell malts, lightly roasty, cacao, ash, liquorice. Taste malts, liquorice, slightly cacao, some coffee, some bitter. Medium carbonation, medium body.

Bottle 33cl from Quack-Duck, a dark beer with huge brown head, got an amazing gushing. Nose is roasted, ashes like and slightly astringent. Aroma is fruity on blackcurrant and slightly metallic, intense roast notes, dark caramel and dark chocolate, licorice, body is creamy. Long roast notes on aftertaste, not bad at all, strong dark malt and smoked notes.

Bügelverschlußflasche (Diky, Cuso!):Literally black, huge creamy brownish head, leather and coffee, accompanied by a sourish fruitiness, in the aroma; solid and dry bitter flavour, full bodied, ashes , bitter chocolate and dark fruits in the complex and slightly alcoholic finish. A goody…
