Sampled from bottle @ The Hague Tasting. Opaque brownish color, small light brown. Smell and taste malts, clearly wine influences, lightly hops, but a touch of sour as well. Decent body and carbonation.

Smells of malt extract with caramel and dark malt. Full oily body. Taste of alcohol and heavy malt with cherries and nutty lemon ness . The finish burns precious. Lots of gut rot.

Bottle at the "Lets celebrate the fact that Dean is already the Mayor of M&S Den Haag even though it’s only been open for 24 hours tasting!". Poured a hazy dark brown with no life at all. The aroma is vinegar like with some molasses and light malt. The flavour is medium sour light bitter with a rich liqourice awful malt bitter palate. Truly awful.

Bottle shared at THT. Pours dark reddish brown. Aroma is red fruits, caramel, alcohol and raisins. Taste is pretty sweet and light bitter and some sourness. Pretty decent. Thick texture. Full bodied and much better than I expected.

Bottle shared at the "Lets celebrate the fact that Dean is already the Mayor of M&S Den Haag even though it’s only been open for 24 hours tasting!". Pours cloudy brown with a tan head. Aroma of caramel, overripe fruits. Flavour is heavy sweet and the mouthfeel is like molasses. A bit cack.

From 0.33l bottle to original Kalteneker Tulip glass. BBD: 20.02.2016 APP: Pours cloudy dark amber cherry-red liquid. Small tan to brown head . Aroma: intensive cherry, candied fruits, raisins, coriander, red fruits, red wine or even Porto wine, bit alcohol, banana, in the background very slightly some peppery spruce freshness. Taste: Heavy sweet, light bitter, light sour. Once more time candied fruits, red fruits, red wine, spruce, some spices-coriander, juniper, but bit more bold in comparison with the aroma. The aftertaste is intense and log, but too sweat. Almost no bitterness (this would add some kick to the beer :D ). Some alcohol present, but well hidden in the good way. Palate: full body, creamy texture (your sensations are like you have just drunk some home made full cream milk from mountains). soft carbonation. Long sweet creamy finish. Excellent beer, perhaps could work more on the more complex taste and aftertaste, so the beer could be so good as the aroma of the beer is :) All the way excellent very drinkable spicy barley wine. Would pair with some double cream cakes, or fruit cakes. Or perhaps also some fruit marinated game, pheasant or duck.
