3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from shop in Kamakura. Aroma is malty, bit weird, vegetal maybe, doughnuts and grassy hops. Quite a mix! Taste is sweet and malty, light hoppy bitterness, but sweetness is dominant. Not wild about it, but not horrible but any means.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from the liquor store by Kamakura station. Grassy green hops, straw, light golden malts. Medium gold. Sweet honey malts, grassy hops, light citrus, clean and crisp. Not much happening, but not bad either. Clean golden ale.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Very malty beer. Quite full body. Minimal hopping. Solid but rather uninteresting. Poured a nice light brown. Decent.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: JAN 17, 2009 Bottled. Hazy deep golden, rich head. Slightly spicy gingery nose. Medium sweet with clean rounded mouthfeel and medium body. Fruity ginger and passion fruit lies under honey and grain. Fairly low bitterness.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Heavy malty lemon zesty smell on the frothy white head. Taste is bready and mouthfeel is well balanced. This, however, simply does not impress me overall as a beer. It lacks a certain spark and as it warms up, it tastes more like a pilsner. Great label design...not great beer..and at almost 5 dollars per bottle, not a good bargain either.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
My favorite of all the Kamakura Beer Breweries creations. Extremely hoppy with an excellent balance of bitter and sweet. Truly one of Japan’s finest brews. But then again, I haven’t tasted them all yet...but working on it.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bready herbalness and some floral qualities in the nose. Looks alot like a heff and has some wheatyness to it as well. Grainy malts with biscuit and an underlying herbal bitterness to it all. Finishes with hoppy and slightly sweet. Very pleasant.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: FEB 21, 2010 Pours copper with a nice white head that lasted. Aroma is molasses and hay with malt and some bitter hops as well. Flavor is molasses and hay. It ends slightly bitter. Not a bad brew, but the flavors could be blended a little better. Also wish the aroma was a bit stronger.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
A deep golden color with a small white head. Sweet grassy nose, light floral/spice nose. Sweet, light grain flavors. Not bad. A bit undercarbonated.
