2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Bov (7364) - Bienne, - OCT 1, 2005
thanks to Peter Ens for this one - pours a clear and pale golden colour, fine and firm white head which is leaving a nice lacing; aroma of butter with notes of sulphur and herbs; medium-bodied at best, some sweetness followed by a light but tart bitterness; unclean palate, some dryness and an herbal touch in the finish - modest
1.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 DanielBrown (2723) - Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, ENGLAND - MAY 18, 2012
Bottle from European Delicatessen, Erdington, Birmingham. Pale yellow, no head. Smells like a Hungarian lager. Bad beer. Hardly any flavour, aside from a thin, tinny corn, with some frosties. Also too fizzy. Not enough enjoyable in an ironic way.

International Green Week, Berlin 2012: our second day and we find ourselves in hall 17 where food and drink from Italy, Switzerland and The Czech Republic were on offer (as well as a few other countries) I notice a spare table and a couple of barstools, so plop the wife down and peruse the taps around me: I get the wife a Budweiser Budvar and myself a lovely looking ‘Schwarz aus Bohmen’ beer. While I’m enjoying my beer I notice a guy over the way in Bulgarian national dress (or something like that) who was cooking some stew type stuff: next to him were cans of beer, so after my Czech beer I wander over and return to our table with a 500ml can of this Pilsner.
Poured it into my vase shaped glass and the review started: Yellow body, bright, clean and clear, could have been any one of 1,000 Pilsners/Lagers/Helle, thin white head on top (of course).
Gets my regular score of 3 for a non-smelling Pilsner, couldn’t pick up anything worthy of note in the nose.
Generic Pilsner feel to this: grains, mild citrus hop content and enough malts to prevent too much bitterness from the hops, refreshing and thirst quenching. Not the best, but I’ve had a lot worse in my travels. One of the better offering I’ve had from Bulgaria.

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 GT2 (4016) - Washington DC, USA - JAN 13, 2012
500mL. Pours clear yellow with lower carbonation. Generates a larger, white head leaving decent, white lace. Nose is fruity, mild tangerine, sweet pineapple. Taste is blander, lightly metallic, decent amount of import green bottle lager sting, full corny grain. Not so bad though. Suddier, light palate. Much better than I expected.
2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 thooper41 (488) - Oregon, USA - DEC 24, 2011

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 AlexGR (77) - GREECE - NOV 24, 2011
Only Bulgarian beer I’ve tasted. And it’s not bad actually. I wasn’t disappointed. Pale yellow color, with small head. Malty aroma and taste. Maybe a little bittersweet too. Light body and light finish.....
2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 trapped (166) - TURKEY - NOV 4, 2011
Bottle. Pale yellow with small white foamy head, slight doughy aroma, slightly sweet taste, mild carbonation, watery abrupt finish. Not a remarkable beer at all.
