3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft at 2nd Anniversary. Pours black with almost no head. Aroma is mostly coffee grounds. Taste is lots of coffee, chocolate, bourbon barrel and a hint of maple syrup. Rich, full and silky palate. On its own merits, this beer is delicious. Rook Coffee is by far my favorite in the area and it comes through in this beer. My only slight disappointment is that the coffee overwhelms some of the nuances that I loved so much in the original bottled version.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Coffee is very subtle in here, but it really seems to have sapped all of the carbonation out of the beer. For the most part, thatís not a bad thing, but it does lead to a thinner mouthfeel. Still the great chocolate and bourbon notes of the original ANTEAD.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
This being a seperate rating? Coffee addition much better, coffee tends to cover a lot. Dark pour with no head. Very nice roasted coffee tones, seemingly less boozy.(although we know it isnít)

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at 2nd anniversary. Pours black with a small off white head. Aroma is of really nice medium to dark roast coffee, some chocolate, light dried fruits and some alcohol round out the aroma. Taste is complex, lots of roasty, smooth coffee, toasted malts, chocolate, light dried fruits, mild smokiness, creamy, full mouthfeel with some of the dry alcohol notes becoming apparent on the finish. Really nice.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Barcade in Jersey City. Pours black with a dark brown head. Aroma has some coffee, less than expected. Also has the dark chocolate and booze of the regular Night to End All Dawns. Attack is better balanced than the regular, though; flavor has some coffee (although again less than expected) as well as a nice dark roastiness, with the bourbon again later in the taste. Nice. Mouthfeel is medium and creamy-coffee, with a nice bittersweet roasted finish.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught at 2nd Anniversary party. Poured a great looking silky pitch black body with a light beige head. Aroma of coffee, syrup, slight charcoal, burnt toast, maple and some burnt sugar. Big syrupy body that finishes dry with very noticable alcohol heat and average carbonation. Flavor of burnt coffee, syrup, burnt toast, booze and vanilla extract. Good beer but this one is very big and bold and a definite sipper.
