Tasted at the late night tasting after the Grand Tasting at RBWG Asheville. Pours thick, oily black with a thin tan head that leaves a thin collar of lace. The nose is tons of vanilla bourbon, with traditional milk and dark chocolate malty imperial stout. The flavor is really more focused on the bourbon, fairly sweet vanilla, fudge brownie, really bourbon forward. The body is full with light carbonation and a long bourbon and brownie finish. Very nice.

Bottle thanks to Dmac shared at Anchorage Feb ’15 Tasting: Poured a pitch black with brown bubble head. Aroma is strong vanilla, bourbon, roasted malts, and a touch of dark fruit. Taste was sweet caramel malts, bourbon, oaky and strong vanilla bean.

Inky black pour with a medium foamy tan head that diminishes gradually. Small patches of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of vanilla, chocolate malt and coffee. Full-bodied with flavors of sweet vanilla, chocolate, roast malt and coffee. The finish is mildly boozy vanilla coffee and sweet chocolate. Good beer all around.

Sampled at an ESBLS tasting. It poured a black color with a tan head. The aroma was of bourbon, oak, caramel and vanilla. The taste was similar to the aroma with more oak, bourbon and a nice amount of vanilla. Another wow.

Just plain righteous. Vanilla bean really compliments the deep dark flavors of the base beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured dark black with aromas of vanilla, chocolate, roast, and some light coffee. Flavors are huge vanilla with some light coffee and chocolate. A solid beer overall. The best of the variants.

Bottle... Black Tuesday took a paternity test and found out that this beer was its daddy!... Midnight-black ale with a small, creamy, brown head. Great retention. The luxuriant aroma delivers loads of chocolate crème, vanilla, toasted coconut, caramel and pistachios with undercurrents of tobacco and molasses. Full-bodied and uber-velvety with laid-back carbonation. The flavor boasts bourbon, vanilla, toasted coconut and fudge brownies. Boozy, but balanced – not overbearing. Warming, nourishing finish. Magical. Thanks to newcigarz for popping the top off this world class treatment of a mediocre base beer!

Sample @ RBWG Asheville After Party. Brown pour with a small head. Nose of toffee, rocky road fudge, Cows Tails. Taste is of deep, rich chocolate malt. Some vanilla accents. Sort of hot, a touch sickly. Burnt brown sugar. Full body, thick and expansive on the palate.
