3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours hazy gold with a 1 finger white head. Aroma is tropical fruit, mango and a little honey. Taste adds a wheat like note, which I assume is the spelt. Didn't really pick up on the oat or rye. Honey becomes more prevalent as the beer warms. Medium creamy mouthfeel with a somewhat subdued carb. This seemed to be fairly heavy for a saison but was still very drinkable and pleasant.

750ml bottle in a tulip. Pours hazy golden/copper with a big, lacy, cream-colored head. Aroma of light spiciness, some pale and caramel malts, hints of floral and fruity notes, and light bitterness. Flavor the same with a nice blend of everything. Average texture. A pretty good saison.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Location: 750 ml bottle from Hoboken Vine, 12/7/13
Aroma: The nose is yeasty, with some grains, straw, tropical fruit, a little honey, and grass
Appearance: A hazed yellow-gold color with a large, thick, frothy white head and coating lace
Flavor: The flavor is very balanced with a nice mix of yeast, spice, funk, honey, and grass
Palate: The feel is smooth and clean with a soft-to-average carbonation, and a clean, dry finish
This is a really nice saison. The use of honey accents the beer, but doesn’t overpower is with sweetness. It has a nice, clean funkiness that also doesn’t overpower the underlying beer. All in all, it is very well balanced and very drinkable.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Notes of pepper and some funk on the nose. Floral and grassy too. On the palate there’s a crisp astringency that’s followed up by sweet notes from the honey, some nice florals and then a zingy finish from the hops. Unbelievably refreshing and super drinkable. Yum!

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a slightly hazy yellow golden color with two fingers of tight white foam. The nose off the bat was a bit strange with a small touch of gym socks and sulphur that quickly gasses off and opens up to a more rustic grain and yeasty esters that match the style. The palate follows with a pretty good balance between the rustic grain roundness and some yeasty earthy esters. Nothing too complex but a simple translation of a very wide open style.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a hazy golden color. Peppery aroma with some other spicy phenols. Flavor much of the same....peppery, other spicy flavors, mild yeast phenolics and some alchohol warmth. Not a bad saison, would have like some more barnyard presence for this farmhouse style.
