COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Head High is our interpretation of an American-style India Pale Ale (IPA). This beer is all about the hops; we use a blend of five different varieties all grown in the Pacific Northwest. A small charge of Chinook and Columbus early in the boil adds a smooth bitterness. A majority of the hops are then added late in the kettle or post-fermentation to produce a beer that is heavy on hop flavor and aroma. The combination of Cascade, Centennial, Citra and Columbus give Head High a noticeable grapefruit flavor with aromas of citrus, tropical fruits and pine. Our house American ale yeast ferments to a dry finish that accentuates the use of imported Pilsner and lightly kilned crystal malt resulting in Head High’s straw color and crisp flavor.

Growler. Pour is golden with a frothy head. Aroma and flavor are both of citrus and pine hops with some slight herbal qualities. Dry fruit in the finish.

not my favorite malt-bill for a pale ale and the hops get slightly obscured by the pilsner-type breadiness. well made and enjoyable, but not quite enough to be in the upper echelon for my tastes.

My wife dragged me to her friends birthday dinner in NJ, but was pleads Ty surprised to find Kane on tap since I’ve heard good things. Pours hazy yellowish orange with puffy head. Nose is wonderful juicy tropical fruit. Tastes of grapefruit, kiwi, mangoes, floral, pine, some biscuits. Lively palate. Really delicious ipa

From a growler, provided by Travlr, thanks! Poured a nice slightly hazy orange color with a nice white head. Aroma was notes of pine resin, herbal, earthy hops and a nice slightly tropical fruit note. Flavor was quite nice in the hop department, imparting notes of earth, pine and citrus. Very refreshing, enjoyable to consume. Thanks!

Tap at the brewery. Pours lightly hazy orange with a medium, frothy white head, medium retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is biscuit and honey malt, earthy, pine, citrus and herbal hops with peach esters. Flavor is heavy hops and bitterness, light malt, fruity esters and a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation.

On tap at Tapastre, Somerville, NJ. Pours bright golden yellow with a white head. Aroma is nice hoppy citrus, with a bit of bready scent. Attack is crisp and hoppy, balanced nicely with a citrus maltiness. Clean finish. Excellent IPA, best in NJ in my mind. And, wait till you get a chance to try the dry-hopped galaxy or citra versions!
