COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Head High is our interpretation of an American-style India Pale Ale (IPA). This beer is all about the hops; we use a blend of five different varieties all grown in the Pacific Northwest. A small charge of Chinook and Columbus early in the boil adds a smooth bitterness. A majority of the hops are then added late in the kettle or post-fermentation to produce a beer that is heavy on hop flavor and aroma. The combination of Cascade, Centennial, Citra and Columbus give Head High a noticeable grapefruit flavor with aromas of citrus, tropical fruits and pine. Our house American ale yeast ferments to a dry finish that accentuates the use of imported Pilsner and lightly kilned crystal malt resulting in Head High’s straw color and crisp flavor.

Draft @ The Spot. Pours a lighter amber with a pillow of a white head. Smack in the face with dank pine and citrus hops....im talking Macho Man Randy Savage(RIP) snap* into a slimjim style hops. The flavor is packed full with much of the same piney/resiny hops, caramel malts, and a finish that lasts for days. Insanely drinkable dispite the abv.....and thank you Kane for being so close to me! Outstanding and maybe one day this will be bottled for the lucky folk outside of NJ

Strong go nose. Low head and low carbonation. Cloudy orange color. Nearly opaque. Chewy body worth a heavy bitter end.

On draft : murky orange color, small fast vanishing head. Nice fruity orange hoppy nose. Somehow flat but somehow nicely balanced refreshing medium intense grassy hop taste. Medium lasting aftertaste.

Pours copper color with white head. Citrus aroma with tropical fruits, grapefruit and pine. Almost syrupy feel in mouth. Sweet citrus start with mango and tropical fruit flavors. Finish is grapefruit and some pine. Really nice IPA.

Very strong entry in the IPA world. Definitely as good as most the better IPAs out there. Almost as good as racer, sculpin, 60 and so on.

Drinking the double dry hopped head high. Pours a clear gold with white head and thick lacing. It’s of straw, an almost minty bitterness. Very hoppy. Starts off hoppy citrus and ends on a bitter note. A nice hoppy IPA.

Growler poured into a tulip. Pours transparent amber/copper with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of floral and citrusy and resinous and fruity hops, some caramel and pale malts, and light dough. Flavor the same with a strong hoppiness. Average texture. A very solid IPA.

Had this plenty of times, but rated @ the source. Pours golden with some white head. Aroma is so bright and full of grapefruity hops. Oh baby. Flavor follows through with a good amount of malt support; definitely not in the way of the hop flavor, but it feels more balanced. Palate is average with light carb. Finish is slightly stickier with lingering citrus bitterness. Real easy drinking. Such a good beer. I pound this and Boat Beer on the regular.

Pour is lightly hazed yellowish amber with a thin white ring. Nose has a light cereal with a hint of rubber. A bit phenolic with a hint of pine and citrus. Taste has a light bitterness and gentle carbonation. Grain an cereal on the light body with more citrus and a light pine. Bitterness lingers with some dirty wheat. Bitterness out weighs the other hop flavors an malts are a bit unrefined and unfocused.

Poured from growler via trade with dmac. Very stoked to try this beer. Appearance was nice and clear with an ivory 1 finger head and thick lacing. Color was somewhere in between gold and orange which leads me to believe that minimal crystal malt was used. Aroma is tropical and fruity with slight hints of pine. Taste is a very nice blend of citrus fruits with mild bitterness that sits somewhere between the front and back end. Thirst quenching and would be a great summertime beer.

Growler pour thanks to gimmethefunk Pat! Pours a hazy orange, 2 finger fluffy white head that breaks into decent lacing. Aroma is all hops. Pine, grapefruit, orange peel and some hints of mango. Taste is bitter grapefruit upfront with some pine essence following. A pretty light body that allows the hops to dominate. Not much sweetness at all. Finishes slightly boozy with a moderate bitterness to it. Very nice IPA!
