COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Head High is our interpretation of an American-style India Pale Ale (IPA). This beer is all about the hops; we use a blend of five different varieties all grown in the Pacific Northwest. A small charge of Chinook and Columbus early in the boil adds a smooth bitterness. A majority of the hops are then added late in the kettle or post-fermentation to produce a beer that is heavy on hop flavor and aroma. The combination of Cascade, Centennial, Citra and Columbus give Head High a noticeable grapefruit flavor with aromas of citrus, tropical fruits and pine. Our house American ale yeast ferments to a dry finish that accentuates the use of imported Pilsner and lightly kilned crystal malt resulting in Head High’s straw color and crisp flavor.

Nicely balanced bitterness with no harsh or abrasive flavors, hops do not overpower the malt to the point of tasting like bitter water. Nice malt backbone with a very aromatic nose. Easy to drink IPA. Well done, impressive.

At Witherspoon grill. Nice all around brew. Hops are prominent but well balanced. Nice flavor from malt and not overly bitter. A full palate.

Pours a golden orange-straw yellow with a one finger white head with pretty nice lacing. Aroma is of citrus (a lot of grapefruit), pine, tropical fruits (mango and and pinnapple), light dank hops, and some light grassy hops. Tast is very similar to the aroma with the addition of some very light bready malts and herbal hops. Has a medium body with a a semi creamy mouthfeel and a pretty bitter, long lingering finish. Overall, a fantastic west coast pa that gives the best IPA’s brewed in San Diego a run for their money.

Draft sampled at GABF 2014. Pours a slightly hazy orange body with white lacing. Aroma is pine and citric hops. Mouthfeel is nice overall with notes of fresh pine and grapefruit - standard fresh citric hop profile and it works really well.

Clearish blond color. Light for the style. Hop isn’t the main ingredient so I dig that. Pretty fruity, more than sweet, yeast. Pale malts. A nice touch on an over done style.

Draft at the Pour House. Gold with some haze, tons of lacing. Huge grapefruit, tropical citrus, and pine notes throughout. Nice bitterness but, balanced. Perfect for the style. Low carb, big hoppy mouthfeel. Easy to drink with a lot of flavor. Love this. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Strong go nose. Low head and low carbonation. Cloudy orange color. Nearly opaque. Chewy body worth a heavy bitter end.

On draft : murky orange color, small fast vanishing head. Nice fruity orange hoppy nose. Somehow flat but somehow nicely balanced refreshing medium intense grassy hop taste. Medium lasting aftertaste.

Pours copper color with white head. Citrus aroma with tropical fruits, grapefruit and pine. Almost syrupy feel in mouth. Sweet citrus start with mango and tropical fruit flavors. Finish is grapefruit and some pine. Really nice IPA.
