COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Port Omna is an American Extra Stout, taking charateristics from each sub-style within the stout category. The medium body and smoothness is reminiscent of an oatmeal stout and supports aromas of roasted malts, rich coffee, and hints of cocoa. Flavors of bittersweet chocolate and the medium malt character of an American stout add a layer of sweteness, while it’s relatively high 6.2% ABV and asserrtive roast flavors are familiar characteristics of foreign extra stouts. Port Omna wraps our favorite stout flavors into one very secial, very limited-release beer.

On tap at the Kane Brewery tasting room. Pours a deep cola brown with a thin beige head. Big cherry roast and soft cocoa. Medium bodied big roasty chocolate, cocoa, touches of bitter coffee. Long roast, thins out just a bit. Easy drinking.

Draft. Poured black with a little khaki head. Aroma is heavy on chocolate. Taste is sweet out of the gate and finishes on a strong roasted malt note. Could benefit from a fuller body. Very tasty. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at bond street. Black pour with tan head. Roasted malts, smoother chocolate and bitterness in aroma. Flavor is very well balanced, roasted but bitter, chocolate and other slightly sweet malt tones. Solid.

Draft. Pours near black with a beige head. Roasted malty aroma, with dark chocolate and caramel. The flavor has sweet caramel and chocolate malts, light roasted malts, coffee, a hint of vanilla, and light earthy notes. Pretty good.

Draft. Poured a dark black body of a medium density sitting under a smaller foamy beige head. Aroma is nice. Notes of coffee and cream, roastiness, well done toast, dark bread and a hint of dark chocolate. Perfect body with a medium to full mouthfeel, average to softer carbonation, and an average duration on the aftertaste. Flavor of light charcoal, brown bread toast, milk, and light hints of dark chocolate. This is good stuff.

Growler, thanks to my wife for picking up for me. Pours out an almost black brown color with a small off white head. Aroma is lots of chocolate, some roast, and light sweet coffee. Taste is semi-sweet chocolate, nice roast, mild but sweet coffee with a decent amount of hop bitterness on the finish. Mouthfeel is silky smooth. Very nice beer and once again a winner from Kane.

Had to try this on tap when I saw it - Kane is the latest brewer from my home state, where we are lagging behind some others! This beer pours black, with a nice thick brown head. Aroma is coffee and a hint of dark liquorice, taste is big and bold with some coffee and dark chocolate but a nice sweet malt balance, with a thick mouthfeel. Toasty finish. Amazing beer for such a recent brewer!! Keep up the great work Kane.
