COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tidal Series.
In the late 1860s, Michael F. Claffey came to America from the small village of Port Omna in County Galway, Ireland. Four generations later, we brewed this beer to both celebrate our Irish heritage and to honor our family on both sides of the Atlantic. Port Omna is an American Extra Stout, taking characteristics from each sub-style within the stout category. The medium body and smoothness is reminiscent of an oatmeal stout and supports aromas of roasted malts, rich coffee, and hints of cocoa. Flavors of bittersweet chocolate and the medium malt character of an American stout add a layer of sweetness, while it’s relatively high 6.2% ABV and assertive roast flavors are familiar characteristics of foreign extra stouts. Port Omna wraps our favorite stout flavors into one very special, very limited-release beer.

Dark brown little rimming tan head; aroma is rich roasty malt with hints of raspberry; Flava is super rich roasty malt with notes of dark chocolate and hints of alcohol; feels medium to thick with a decent fizzy bite; finishes long dry malty and hen bitter

On tap at that dump Irish mile, pours black with light off white head. Notes are milk chocolate, roasted malt, nuts, licorice, and some light coffee. Nice and viscous but refreshing as possible. Really fucking solid brew from Jerz, Kane and Carton are killing it these days.

Draft brewery. Dark brown, basically black, thin mocha head. Aroma is chocolate, roasted malt, and subtle coffee. Taste follows but mainly milk chocolate. A little too thin on the body. Good stuff. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Growler, cheers to eelbasher! The pour’s deep brown with a lively tan head. Rich, earthy nose. Loads of dry roasted malts. Mellow coffee. Charred wood. Dark chocolate. The taste is similar. Nice and dry. Toasted malts. Slightly peppery hops. Ashy roast. A bit of sweet cocoa. Medium body, smooth. Fine carbonation. Overall, pretty pleasant stuff.

On tap at the Kane Brewery tasting room. Pours a deep cola brown with a thin beige head. Big cherry roast and soft cocoa. Medium bodied big roasty chocolate, cocoa, touches of bitter coffee. Long roast, thins out just a bit. Easy drinking.

Draft. Poured black with a little khaki head. Aroma is heavy on chocolate. Taste is sweet out of the gate and finishes on a strong roasted malt note. Could benefit from a fuller body. Very tasty. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
