Inspired by the frozen treat from our youth, this beer was aged on fresh orange zest and organically grown Indonesian vanilla beans.

Tap at P house, this version says 6.6%. Poured black with small to medium beige head, I don’t remember orange creamsickle popsicles as a kid having chocolate in them but that’s mostly how this taste: chocolate, candy orange, malt roast and sweet vanilla bean. Wouldn’t want more than 5-6 ounces but an interesting beer overall.

Pours a dark black with light brown head. A coffee and chocolate aroma with a strong orange and cream aroma. A strong orange and cream flavor with coffee and light chocolate. A sweet orange and dry malt aftertaste.

Draft at the brewery. Base beer is nicely on display with alternating waves of orange and vanilla. Perfect balance and delicious. The standout of the day for sure.

On draft at Kane tap takeover (Cloverleaf Tavern). Pours a dark brown color with amber hues, and a small creamy khaki head. Aroma of roasted coffee, chocolate, orange zest, and a hint of vanilla. Taste of burnt chocolate, orange zest, and roasted and caramel malts.

Draft and growler. Poured a dark black center with slightly lighter edges and an average sized foamy light beige head. Aroma is basically a creamsicle over a stout, initial and main aromas are vanilla and orange and in the background is some dark toast, light coffee and chocolate. Medium body with average carbonation and a lingering sweet aftertaste finished by roastiness. Flavor is exactly like the aroma, lots of vanilla and orange lead the way followed by my classical stout notes like dark toast, light coffee and dark choclate. When I read the description of this one it was one of my least wanted but I am very happy to say I was wrong, this beer is awesome.

Growler shared thanks to Dmac. Pours out black with a small fading off white head. Aroma is orange creamsicle, light aroma of dark chocolate notes and light vanilla. Taste is very complex and a great balance of flavors, orange creamsicle with roast, chocolate and some sweet vanilla flavors, they really hit the mark with getting a perfect balance of flavor, this one was awesome.

UPDATED: MAR 16, 2013 Growler at Dmac’s. Pours black with brown head. Nose/taste of vanilla, cocoa, orange cream and roasted dark malt. Orange cream flavor dominates throughout - just like a creamsicle! Medium body.
