COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A traditional German style unfiltered wheat beer, the Highside is brewed with a special Bavarian yeast to produce unique clove and citrus flavors as well the aroma of banana. Very refreshing!

tap at the brewpub - Pours hazy straw colored with a yeasty, banana aroma. It tastes sweet with an assertive banana character, spice, and mild hops. It’s light, bubbly, and refreshing. Very good hefe.

Tap at the brewpub. Tons of bubblegum, banana peel, a little birch in the nose. Over the top hefe notes in the flavor. Bright and on target but dull. Needs the rough, wheaty note that the top German examples provide.

On tap @ brewery. Clear light folden, clearer than a hefe should be, but still just a slight haze with a dense small white cap. Smells of wheaty bubblegum and a load of banana. Taste was crisp and light, but just a tad light on the body. Wheaty, yeasty banana, ends dry and too light with a lingering light herbal tone. Hits all the right flavor marks, just feels "off", or light or both.

On draught at the brewpub. Lots of banana and esters. Very hazy pale straw with nice white head. Banana dominates the flavor with nice, somewhat muted yeast. Medium mouthfeel.

on tap 7/20/10. slightly hazy goldish yellow with a soft white head. alcohol is (oddly) noticed in the aroma... along with floral esters, banana, dust, clove-y spice and some lemon. the flavor is the same although the clove and lemon characters really stand out. alcohol lingers in the aftertaste with some florals. creamy yet crisp. 5/3/6/3/13/3.0

On tap at the brewpub in Grand Junction. Pours a cloudy yellow color with a medium white head. The aroma was full of tons of spices and loads of banana. The flavor was similar; loads of sweet banana and a huge clove and other spice flavors. A medium mouthfeel, pretty nice. A good hefe. Very aggressive but also easygoing.

Light, refreshing. a good summer beverage. Quite typical of the style with appropriate spice, cloudiness and light mouth feel.

Draught at brewery. Pours clear yellow with a small, fizzy, white head, mostly diminishing with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (hay, straw), average hops (citrus), average yeast (dough) with notes of banana, clove, and bubble gum. Light bodied, oily texture, soft carbonation, and a chalky finish. Average duration, light sweetness, acidity, and bitterness.

On tap @ Kannah Creek poured a cloudy gold with a small lingering white head. Aromas of BIG BANANA, light bubblegum and a hint of clove. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of wheat, banana and a hint of clove with a crisp clean finish.
