COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
True to its style, this beer has a mild malt sweetness with a pronounced hop bitterness that lingers in the mouth long after the beer is gone. It is a well balanced Pale Ale avoiding the trend of excessive over hopping.

Bottle at CBC reception, April 8 2014.
Clear golden color, white head. Sweet, hoppy scent. Hoppy bitter, pith taste. Pith aftertaste. Fizzy mouthfeel, medium high bitterness.

crazyvin (1858) - New York, USA - APR 14, 2014
A medium amber body with a big white head that faded down quite a bit. There was no lacing. An elevated level of carbonation. Aroma had a nice caramel malt presence upfront. A nice blend of citrus hops and mild pine. Flavor was well balanced. Nice sweet notes from the malts and a decent hop flavor that was neither over overpoweringly bitter or too citrusy. Light on the palate and the carbonation could have been less. Still a decent brew.

12 oz bottle from Tipsy’s (MFG08.12.13). Amber and clear with sticky white head. Aroma of must, old hops, sweet malts. Similar flavor, bland, sweet and lightly bitter with some off-notes. Average body, slick and creamy with minimal carbonation. Old.

Brouwerij (884) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JAN 12, 2014
Bottle. Pours clear amber with coarse khaki head. Decent retention with minimal lacing. Aroma is resinous, piney hops and nutty, sweet, toffee malts. Flavor is piney hops, nutty, caramel malt with a citrus hop finish and mildly malty, mildly bitter aftertaste. Tastes clean, balanced. Soft to moderate carbonation, medium-light body. Refreshing.

3fourths (7797) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - DEC 17, 2013
Bottle. Rose-hued amber body with a short off-white head and little retention. Aroma of cara malt, American hops (bubble gum, fruit, grass, tea) with nutty / almond / marzipan accents that seem to turn into more of an amaretto quality when it warms and some alcohol becomes apparent. Floral esters give it a pleasant lavender smell and flavor, and the malt is nicely soft and fermentation seems mostly clean. Two complaints include the body, which is thin and watery and falls apart into a generic bubble gum / fruit / sugar finish, and the rawness of the hops.

Pours dark amber, no head. Aroma of citrus hops, pine, some red apple. Flavor is malty, caramel, bitter, orange peel, some yeast, and maybe some wood flavors. Great beer.

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is medium amber. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (grapefruit, resin). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Very simple aroma, but no off notes. Nicely balanced in the mouth for the style, and again quite clean. Not very exciting or different, but kudos for the clean brewing...no diacetyl, huskiness, doughiness, or other unpleasant characters here...which is more than most Colorado breweries can claim.

Bottle @ home picked up at Supermarket Foco. Pours a clear burnt orange appearance with a nice cream colored head. Fairly dank and spicy hoppy, light toffee, slight espresso, toasted malty aroma. Cracker, a bit chewy malty, caramel, slightly burnt flavor with fairly spicy, fresh hops but not overly bitter. Not bad.

A dry hopped pale ale with good hop aroma. Good bitterness with malt and a touch of resinous hops.

On tap @ brewery. Clear brilliant copper, with a small tight cap. Aroma has some lemon rind hoppiness with a slight perfumy tone. Its flavor is pretty bright hoppy on the start, with decent bitterness and a little peppery. But then in the middle it gets really malty with toffee and cereal grains. So in short, it starts American, ends British. Nice pale!
