This beer was born 20 years ago in Jimbo’s backyard. Hop forward, and a malty complexity, it won medals in home brew competitions in the 90’s and has risen to international recognition and acclaim.

A medium amber body with a big white head that faded down quite a bit. There was no lacing. An elevated level of carbonation. Aroma had a nice caramel malt presence upfront. A nice blend of citrus hops and mild pine. Flavor was well balanced. Nice sweet notes from the malts and a decent hop flavor that was neither over overpoweringly bitter or too citrusy. Light on the palate and the carbonation could have been less. Still a decent brew.

Hazy golden, nice white ring. Nose is veggie and oily citrus. Initial taste is spicy and lean greeny tropical. Carbonation is fairly steady and motyfheel quite peppery. Finishes dry and muesli sweet with a decent crisp dank linger.

Bottle hazy amber with a decent light tan head. Sharp metallic bitter hop aromas and flavors. Hop forward...yeah malt complexity...not so much. Lingering bitter bite that just seems not very clean.

Bottle from whole foods last week.. Finally found the time to give it a proper review tonight... Great off-white head with good lacing, clear light amber brew. Pithy citrus and dry toast are the only real players... light maltiness mid palate but not enough hops to balance.. Nothing really wrong... but definitely nothing to write home about... AVERAGE. Falls flat very fast.

Bottle. Caramel malt aroma with some tropical fruit and pine hop notes. Pours amber colored with a large, soapy white head with good retention and lacing. Starts with sweet caramel malt flavors with light hop notes. Finishes smooth and slightly dry with some pine and tropical fruit making it through the caramel. Pretty good, I did not notice until after purchase that this bottle was almost a year old. Would like to try again with a fresher bottle.

Grand Junction, Co - on tap at Kannah Creek. Dark amber pour, off white head, light lacing. Aroma has a slight pine bent to it. Flavor has a mellow light citrus bitterness, some pear fruitiness, a light touch of cake mix. Mouthfeel has a nice crispness to it. Decent session material.

Bottle from trade with fonefan, many thanks! Leicht trübe orangegelbe Farbe, ordentliche leicht beige Schaumkrone. Geruch fruchtig nach Aprikose und Pfirsisch, sehr hopfig. Geschmack leicht hopfig fruchtig, Aprikosen, leider fehlt diesem Bier die hopfige Bitterkeit, dennoch gut trinkbar.

Bottle with understated thanks to coyotehunter. Pours a light coppery color with a thin to medium-sized head of white foam and a soapy aroma. Flavor is full of a spicy edginess and a floral/soapy presence that balances against the malt. Not great, not awful... somewhere in the middle.

Pleasant well-rounded brew with some piney hops, some very gently sweet malts and a dry finish. Slightly flat carbonation brings the total experience down somewhat.
