Commercial Description:
The most refreshing beer in the world. Malted wheat and special yeast give Kapuziner Weissbier its light touch and distinctive taste - a yeasty tang offset by a solid malt body and a delightful tropical fruitiness. Unfiltered yeast lends a hazy, seductive look.

(Bottle) Orange. Cloudy. Dense medium sized head. Banana aromas in fruity nose. Lot of carbonation in medium palate. Banana, bitterness, some salty liquorice and bitterness in taste.

02-Apr-07 (500-ml bottle: Purchased 10-Jan-07 for $2.79 at Holiday Wine Cellar in Escondido, CA) This is a relatively average imported German Hefeweizen, which means it’s still a pretty good beer. Moderately sweet, with plenty of semi-ripe banana, but not spicy at all. The wheat base takes on strong bready notes, especially as the beer warms up. Banana bread aroma affirms the perceived flavor. Medium-bodied, but the beer gets a bit heavy and stale on the palate over time, despite the moderate carbonation. Hazy, golden-amber in color, but not fully cloudy like many other examples of the style. Fluffy, off-white head on the pour settles to a ring. Decent, but more enjoyable when cold because the banana is more prominent than the breadiness.

(GERMANY) Pours a hazy yellow color with a small white head. The aroma has a clove, grain, and some lite fruity notes. The taste is kind of spicy with a hint of wheat and banana. The mouthfeel is spritzy and quiet refreshing !!! My only problem is the taste falls a bit short.

Pours a hazy golden yellow with a foamy white head. Aroma is crisp and wheaty. Little bit of citrus scent. Flavor is good and wheaty. Strong hints of banana and orange. Nice. Smooth, crisp, good overall.
