Commercial Description:
The most refreshing beer in the world. Malted wheat and special yeast give Kapuziner Weissbier its light touch and distinctive taste - a yeasty tang offset by a solid malt body and a delightful tropical fruitiness. Unfiltered yeast lends a hazy, seductive look.

Pours a dark gold/copper color with a thick, off-white head. Also, a small amount of dark yeast sediment is evident in the pour. Initial aroma has hints of honey. Taste has hints of honey and banana but no strong evidence of citrus. I didn’t find anything particularly impressive about this beer.

Bottle as Kapuziner Bavarian HefeWeizen. Hazy golden color with a big white head. Aromas of banana and spice. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Wheat, yeast, citrus, pepper and clove. Classic adherence to the style. Finishes with banana, spice, etc. It’s quite good.

Murky yellow with the classic weizen head. Nice earthy nose, ripe banana, little spritzy pepper and yeast. Slightly sour, earthy flavor, little banana and spices. Strong yeast, pepper and alcohol in the finish. Medium bodied, quite slick palate. Overall a bit too alcoholic.

500 ml bottle. Orange golden beer with a thick sticky white head. Aroma is wheaty with some soft clovey spiciness. Refreshing with a little bit of citrus as well. Soft and pretty well-balanced. It’s less fruity than many and there is also a hint of herbal flavour as well. Warming brings up a bit of vegetal character... meh.

Lemony, citrusy nose with a hint of coriander. Abundant head that is constant and leaves some lace. Smooth entry and very smooth mouthfeel with a medium, mildly carbonated mouthfeel that leads to a somewhat bitter finish consisting of banana, orange and spice. Maltiness is evident throughout. Very refreshing.

0.5 l bottle. Hazy straw color with medium head. Clovey, peppery and bready aroma with tart fruitiness. Fairly dry, clovey and tart flavor with wheat, banana as well as grapefruit. Oily palate with sharp carbonation. More acidic than a typical weizen. Lots of yeast in the bottle.
