Styles (1653), Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA Aug 13, 2007 Updated: Aug 22, 20078-13-07, no date on bottle. Clear dark golden yellow, huge white head, tiny carb bubbles. Head lasts the whole beer, would give a 5 if there was some sort of cloudiness. Huge yeasty ester aroma. Banana and caramel? Flavor confirms the caramel. Banana and muddied spice in the flavor, can’t pinpoint. Hints of citrus near the finish. Oddly enough seems a bit undercarbonated on the palate. Few tweaks here and there and this is a really nice beer. Hansen (2235), Randers, Denmark Aug 13, 2007 Dark orange color. Unclear. Has a big, white head, mostly lasting. Aroma is sweet, with notes of fruit and coriander. Flavor is real nice, fresh fruit, apple, pear. Bitter finish. redlight (1445), Winter Park, Florida, USA Aug 11, 2007 mini-keg. Feint banana aroma with some citrus and an overall cereal scent. Pours cloudy orange-gold color with a huge white head. Mild banana flavor, some citrus, hints of spice in the back, finishes dry. Its lacking a little of what i like in hefeweizen. Bradrcr (778), Renton, Washington, USA Aug 8, 2007 6/30/07 On draught at the Seattle International Beerfest. Aroma is a wide malt blend of sweetness, wheat and sourness. Appearance is a cloudy, wheaty, yellow with a medium white head. Flavor is sweet, wheaty malt with low hop flavor. Mouthfeel is light bodied, crisp, with a clean finish. Overall, a very easy drinking weissbier with no objectionable standouts to complain about. PetetheMeat (546), Hove, Denmark Jul 26, 2007 Unclear almost orange. Rich lasting white head. Wheaty and yeasty aroma. Even more wheat in the flavour. Yeast. Notes of citrus. A little bitterness in the finish. Full. Faintly metallic. Very good. maeib (4677), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England Jul 8, 2007 Bottled - Swan & Rushes - Leicester. A hazy orange/gold coloured hefe, with a big loose white head. The aroma is spicy with notes of clove and sweet malts. The taste has banana and spice. A bit meaty. An Ok hefe, but verging on being too heavy. BückDich (4793), McCall, Idaho, USA Jul 1, 2007 Bottle: Pours a clear(?) gold color, thick white head and lots of lacing. The nose is spicy with phenols but is lacking a lot of esters I crave in a good german style hefeweizen. Faint clove, but mainly just yeast, bread and light wheat. The flavor explodes with the esters, there’s our banana. The finish is nice and full bodied, lots of zesty yeast and moderate wheat malt lingering body. This does lack a harmony I really like with many of my favorite german hefeweizens. I love the quote, "Unfiltered yeast lends a hazy, seductive look." I guess mine wasn’t in the seductive mood. Is this what a hefe looks like when it doesn’t put makeup on and goes into wal-mart at 2am dressed in sweats, flip-flops and a midriff? cking (1012), North Canton, Ohio, USA Jun 30, 2007 *5 Liter mini-keg shared amongst some good friends after B-Patches 1’st birthday party. I enjoyed this over the course of a day/evening both regular and fruited with a fresh lemon. Very light and wheaty with a generous fruit aroma. The lemon really seemed to accentuate the aroma. Inviting pale orange color with a thick and diminishing head that does produce some nice lacing. Zesty and smooth over the gums this one has a mild body and is very satisfying. Faint banana and spice flavor up front leading way to an overall general fruitiness. Nice crisp wheat malt base is evident. This is one of the very few Hefe’s I prefer w/ a half slice of lemon. Great summer cooler, this mini-keg was the best idea I had all day.
