The most refreshing beer in the world. Malted wheat and special yeast give Kapuziner Weissbier its light touch and distinctive taste - a yeasty tang offset by a solid malt body and a delightful tropical fruitiness. Unfiltered yeast lends a hazy, seductive look.

Piwo lane w lokalu. Kolor ciemnozłoty, mętne. Aromat bananowy o średnim natężeniu. W smaku pszenica, banany, jednak nie są tak intensywne, jak zapowiadało się po wąchaniu. Piwo smaczne, lecz bez szału.

Farbe: trübe orange braungelb, also ocker :-) Schaum: ein Traum.

Bottle 500ml. Pours cloudy pale amber brown with a very tall and thick off white head. Scent is wheaty and malty. Mouth feel is slightly oily and smooth, with gentle carbonation and medium body. Tastes very lightly sweet, but mostly dry, with very mild sourness and gentle hop bitterness in good balance. Tastes slightery watery. Flavors are gentle and smoot, mostly wheaty flavor, malt and yeast. Some alcohol flavor and also very mild notes of banana and clove. This beer isyvery gentle and tastes too mild in my opinion, however it’s balanced and smooth.

Hazy golden our, with a big head that sticks forever and leaves an norms lace. Smell of bananas, clove, apricot. I feel some tobaco notes. Great carbonation, body is medium-light. Taste of bananas, clove, citrus, apricot. Good.

On tap. Pours murky yellow with no head. Sourish yeasty aroma. Taste is fruity and slightly sour. Drank side-by-side with a Wiehenstephaner. This one was not very impressive in comparison.

Kulmbacher’s Hefeweizen, with very thick and frothy, creamy, beautiful head, light yellowish in colour and very regularly structured; pours a hazy orangey ’old gold’ with amberish hue, a tad deeper in colour than usual for the style, with a whirlwind of bubbles going through; adding the deposit results in a completely cloudy, ochre-hued peach colour. Typical Bavarian Weissbier aroma of fresh banana, baker’s yeast, white bread dough, dry straw, cloves, sweetbread, dried apricot, more vague accents of sweaty grains, canned pineapple slices, gingerbread. Soft sweetish fruity onset, banana, peach, hint of red apple peel, sourish balance from the wheat but all very gently so, strongish but refined carbonation as it should be in this style, very soft and ’fluffy’ mouthfeel, very bready and a bit yeasty in the end, with retronasal phenolic (clove) spiciness and a touch of deeply buried but structurally effective, leafy hop bitterishness. A gentle, soft, extremely quenching example of this style, with sufficient phenolic spiciness and well-crafted balance between sweet, sour and bitter. I’d recommend this as a typical, pleasant and well-made example to anyone who wants to venture in this ancient Bavarian beer style.
