3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: Hazy pale yellow with lasting frothy white head and very good lace. The aroma has notes of bready and biscuity yeast esters, banana, clove, lemongrass and bubblegum. The taste starts with a twangy citric and moderately banana tone. Lots of clove and floral hops on the finish. Lingering tart and spice. A noticeable sweetness is detected and does take away from some of the refreshing qualities of the style. The feel is fizzy and chalky on the finish. Better than expected but still short of the best of genre. Worthy of a try .

Opaque, dirty dark orang with an ominpresent white foam head. Nice clovey aroma. Flavor tends towards sweet, yet with the classical banana-yeast undertones. Sehr gut!

The bottled product cannot stand up to the mini-keg cans, for some reason. Hazy, yeasty pour with a creamy, lasting head. Banana and apricot notes mixed with the overwhelming yeast and wheat flavors. Very light, but rich. One of my favorite unfiltered wheat beers.

Bottle. Bubblegummy, yeasty banana esters in the aroma. Clovey. Full mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft, salty finish, pretty decent German wheat, a nice surprise.

A fairly nice hefeweizen. A touch of citrus and yeast ... nothing unusual, unexpected, or exciting about it. Basic good and reasonable. Enjoy in the Summer with a lemon wedge.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: AUG 25, 2011 Overall a good baseline wheat. Maybe held higher in regard for those who prefer more of a bready flavor as opposed to citrus. I have had this beer a few times over the years and always been satisfied. +++ Sampled from a 16.9 oz bottle this beer poured a very cloudy medium tan-brown color with a medium sized white head. Although a little darker and browner than I am used to in a wheat beer it remained attractive none the less. The aroma was medium strength tangy citrus and had yeasty undertones. The flavor was pleasant with a definite wheat and yeast flavor with a mild citrus element. It finished with a mild bready taste.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled, fresh sample. Largely yeasty aroma, some wheat malt evident, along with notes of banana, clove, honey, citrus and spice. Thoroughly hazy golden amber color, pouring a massive, fluffy white head of fine bubbles, the lace in thick sheets. Lightly malty start, progressing towards lightly tart citric fruitiness and with a refreshing, lightly bitter and acidic finish. Palate is fairly watery for the style, body is light-medium. Not spectacular, though certainly passable.

UPDATED: OCT 13, 2006 Definitely a summer beer. Very light lightly fruity/grainy aroma and flavor. Some odd whiffs of peanut. Some honey/vanilla cakey flavors, as though it had had a protein drop. A bit tangy. Thinnish in the palate. Aftertaste is vanilla and lightly bitter.
