The most refreshing beer in the world. Malted wheat and special yeast give Kapuziner Weissbier its light touch and distinctive taste - a yeasty tang offset by a solid malt body and a delightful tropical fruitiness. Unfiltered yeast lends a hazy, seductive look.

UPDATED: APR 9, 2005 Rerate Enjoyed it better this time around - lot of sweet biscuity notes <I >Original 2.8 Pours a murky, light yellow, almost specimen like pour, not appealing looking, sorry - little to no head. Yeasty aroma with a bit of banana to it. Flavor has some bubblegum notes to it with a bit of yeast. Way too thin mouthfeel for a German Hefe. Would be a good summer refresher though.

UPDATED: JUL 4, 2011 April, 2004 Canned. Murky dull orange. Light and refreshing with a mild warming spice. One of the better canned beers I’ve come across. A good range of subtle flavours and aromas - malty banana with a little zip of soapy lemon. Softly pleasant. [3.4]
Nov, 2010 French supermarket. A pleasant wheat beer. Soft. Easy drinking. Drunk after the Marseille-Cassis half. [2.7]

UPDATED: MAY 24, 2008 (Bottled) Opaque orange with a large, quite firm and lasting head. Strongly banana-estery, sweetish and fruity aroma with hints of lemon. Banana-fruity, neutral, mildly yeasty flavor with cloves and a dryish, slightly acidic finish. Quite full-bodied without being sweet. Slightly fizzy carbonation. A perfecly balanced Hefeweizen with no faults. With a slight boost in complexity, it would be at the top of the style. (Bottled, was 7-4-8-4-14=3.7) Opaque yellow/orange color with medium head. Fruity banana aroma. Very smooth, fruity, banana flavor. A well-made and enjoyable hefeweizen.

Slight citrus and malt. Plenty of yeast sediment. A decent white head. Slight skunk in smell and taste. This was pretty light for a wheat beer.

I like that this is unfiltered, and it looks great. Has some real sournes in the nose -- too much. The intial flavor is too sweet and too watery, soon replaced by some sourness. Where's the real authentic banana? Some pepperiness? This is fair at best, unfortunately.

Bottle. This beer formed a large sized white head that was foamy and also a bit frothy with fine-small sized bubbles that were mostly lasting. The body was hazy and uncarbonated with a yellow-gold hue. The nose was banana, citrus, sweet and some notes of clove. The flavor was somewhat lacking for a German Hefe...in other words it needed more flavor to it in my opinion. I did detect some spice, banana and fruit notes in the flavor, but not enough of them. The mouthfeel was smooth and somewhat of a thin texture. This was a light-medium textured beer with fair lacing.

This bottled brew poured a large head of foamy finely sized white colored long lasting bubbles that left behind a fair lace. The body was hazy uncarbonated and dark yellow in colour. The aroma was malty wheat like and musty. The mouth feel was smooth with a small tingle and a malty finish and a mild acidic aftertaste. The flavor was wheaty malty thin and light.

Nice lasting head and lace, and appropriate cloudy appearance. I am sorta tired of American wheats and wanted a German. No mistaking this for an American wheat. Nice solid brew, I will have to revisit it in the summer; while I gave it a good rating it may have suffered a little from the cold weather and the preceding heavy beer.
