blipp (1630), Newark, New Jersey, USA Dec 17, 2008 Bottle. Pours hazy gold with a fluffy white head. The aroma is spicy with light fruity esters. The body is a bit thin, and the flavor has banana, yeast, and light spices. Not bad. HermanW (619), Coevorden, Netherlands Dec 14, 2008 0,5 liter beugelfles. Lekkere weizzen. armando629 (953), Budapest, Hungary Dec 2, 2008 Cloudy-hazy golden-amber colored beer, delicious white lacing head. Yeast, spices, caramel in the nose, some citrus and banana, solid fruits, some grape perfume. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel with caramel, light cocoa and fine banana on the tongue, fine citruses and must , light sourish and spicy finish and aftertaste. One of the finest german wheatbeers. Tasty. FirmButtstone (47), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA Nov 20, 2008 Nice color / cloudyness. The aroma is rather weak. More of a clean malt / yeast base then I would like from a hefe. Very little banana / clove in this one. Still a nice crisp / clean beer and very drinkable but not much of the classic hefe wheat, banana, clove richness you would expect. Get it to drink for a decent beer but there are much better hefes out there. yngwie (4880), Kristiansand, Norway Nov 19, 2008 Bottle. Nice, hazy orange-golden body with an off-white head of good size. Banana-dominated nose with citrus-notes and wheat. Slightly papery, with nice cloves. Sweet, bananaish and slightly citrus-fruity flavor with some wheat and a touch of caramel. Cloves and some bitterness towards the finish. A bit thin on the palate, with a quite low carbonation level. A pleasant and mostly refreshing beer, but I would like it more pronounced and effervescent. (081112) hophead75 (1945), Boonton, New Jersey, USA Nov 1, 2008 Nice hazy blonde in color with a large, very long lasting creamy head that formed some mountains above the top of my weizen glass. Perfect appearance for a hefeweizen. Aroma is wheaty, with citrus- lemon zest and mild orange, some spice, not much banana esters. Taste is yeasty with citrus, mostly light lemon, spice, a good deal of wheat, bready yeast. Light metallic and grainy touches here and there. Mildly sweet, medium bodied. Finishes tart with wheat, and the yeast also seemed to add some tartness in the finish. This was a little bit past it’s prime, I can see liking this one more if it was a bit younger. SkyCop32 (286), Morlautern, Germany Oct 24, 2008 Shared this one w/ oldrtybastrd. Picked up at Toom Getränke in Kaiserslautern. Pours a hazy golden orange. Aromas of bread/clove/ and some fruit. Had a taste of yeasty bread with some spice.
