Commercial Description:
The most refreshing beer in the world. Malted wheat and special yeast give Kapuziner Weissbier its light touch and distinctive taste - a yeasty tang offset by a solid malt body and a delightful tropical fruitiness. Unfiltered yeast lends a hazy, seductive look.

Hazy golden color with an aroma of banana and cloves. High carbonation, sweet start which becomes slightly bitter with a dry finish.

Bottled: Fruity, sourly aroma with citrus notes. Orange color, much carbonation and huge head. Flavor is sweet with fruity notes of cloves, peaches and apricot. Wam, sometimes soapy mouthfeel. A bit light bodied.

Slight citrus and malt. Plenty of yeast sediment. A decent white head. Slight skunk in smell and taste. This was pretty light for a wheat beer.

A fairly nice hefeweizen. A touch of citrus and yeast ... nothing unusual, unexpected, or exciting about it. Basic good and reasonable. Enjoy in the Summer with a lemon wedge.

Pours hazy straw into the glass, with a big frothy head that leaves light webbed lacing. The nose is of banana and yeast. This transfers into the flavor in much the same fashion. The carb levels are a bit high, with the mouthfeel a shade thinner than normal (or maybe not... I’m riding the fence on this). Not bad at all... missing the clove finish that makes a truly indicative master hefe.

Bottle. Pours a hazy yellow gold with a very nice white head. Nose is wheaty and banana. This continues into the flavor. A nice balance between the sweet and sour characters. This was a good hefeweizen although I think it was slightly thin.

This one is not my favorite weissbier. I’m not sure if this one was not fresh either. The monk on the bottle fired me up like this would be one of the best. It fell short.
