COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
F.U.N. Series 003. The “regular” bourbon version is a blend of barrels from Heaven Hill Distillery which included: Evan Williams, Elijah Craig, and Old Fitzgerald. All of those barrels were then blended for the final product.

Location: 22 oz bottle from BRC Gastropub, 12/11/13, as 007 Bourbon Barrel Hellfighter

Aroma: The nose is bourbony and a little sweet, roasted malts, coffee! and plenty of smoke
Appearance: It pours a dark brown-black color with a frothy brown head and heavy lace
Flavor: The taste is more roasty and smokey then sweet, bourbony, with a fairly bitter close
Palate: Has a medium body (feels light in this style), soft carbonation, and a little heat
Overall Impression: Very new example of the style. I enjoyed this beer. It is pretty darn easy to drink with this level of booziness and ABV. It doesn’t feel 10+% at all. I’d love to cellar one, I think this would age well. I’m not sure this is a Connery level 007, but it’s certainly leaps and bounds above a Dalton!

This is the best porter that i have ever tried, the only other porter that comes close in my opinion is the 512 Bourbon Barrel Pecan Porter. The beer has strong hints of a fine bourbon, hints of chocolate, and has a smoky aroma. Try this while it is available you will be pleased.

Firkin Houston- pours jet black with a nice brownish red foamy head. Aroma is distinguished...warm and sweet, like being by a fireplace. Hints of bourbon, coffee, chocolate, licorice. First sip you notice the alcohol, but quickly fades from palate. Got that stouty aftertaste. Good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Black wine. Beige head. Jeez alcohol bomb. Rich caramlized malts with lots of alcohol taste. Of course the beer is black with a decaying tan head. It tastes good now and hurts bad later.

Bottle says 005. Pours black with copper head. Aroma of some chocolate & licorice with woody bourbon. Flavor much the same but seems a bit too hot. Heavy mouth feel with low carbonation. Overall, not bad.

Tap at BTBF. The smell is great, wood, campfire, bourbon, malts, rich, and deep. The look is a deep browinsh to black, a bigger tan head. The taste is malts, alcohol, slightly thin, bourbon, and nice.

Bottle. Pours a pit black body, huge light beige head. Nose is coconut, licorice, cocoa, chocolate, vanilla, hints of coffee. Dark chocolate, vanilla, dark sugars, caramel, Brazil nuts, hints of coffee and syrup. Full and creamy body, soft carbonation. Nice BBA strong porter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The malt rules this beer. Pours black with a tan head and auburn highlights. Smell is trad porter with a whiff of whiskey and butterscotch. The alcohol is well hidden. You get more oak than bourbon flavor. As the beer gets warmer it sweetens as well. Highly recommend this one!
