COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
F.U.N. Series 003. The “regular” bourbon version is a blend of barrels from Heaven Hill Distillery which included: Evan Williams, Elijah Craig, and Old Fitzgerald. All of those barrels were then blended for the final product.

DocJitsu (1156) - Florida, USA - MAR 30, 2013
Pours an opaque, dark, somewhat muddy brown with an average sized rootbeer colored head. A lot of sorghum, bourbon, and caramelized creme brulee on the nose. It has a mouthfeel that is pretty full and expansive, but not viscous. A bit of scorched smokiness blends well with sorghum, oak, and bourbon. There’s quite a bit of hop bitterness for the style, but it is not overwhelming. It’s a good sipper.

Thinner beer for its type. Very bourbonny, slight tartness, decent but not amazing.

Bottle in lobby, RBWG. Dark hazy brown with a small fizzy tan head. Nose is lightly boozy, earth, roast, light cocoa. Flavor is cocoa, light vanilla, sweeter malts, light barrels. Solid, thanks for the share daniel!

651mL at the RBWG after party in the hotel lobby. Thanks to Dan! Pours a deeper black with higher carbonation, webby sheets of lacing. Nose is malted milkshake powder, cocoa mix, vanilla, mild savory steak fat. Taste is cookie, cocoa powder, peppercorn, "pickle" in the notes but I’m not sure if I trust that being the final beer after a massive tasting. No palate faults. Fun to try.

Ah, that’s the stuff! Plenty of oak and vanilla from the bourbon enhancing the coffee and caramel of the base porter. Especially welcome after the relative disappointment of Pontificator.

Bottle.
Houston, we have a winner. This stuff is AMAZING. Pours a perfect black with a thick head of beige. Aroma is bourbon, bourboned wood, caramel, and light vanilla. Flavor is bourbon, bourboned wood, caramel, a little more bourbon, and a little more wood, with a touch of toffee in the finish. Thick and lingering on the tongue. Holy moly. This is AWESOME.
