Pours pitch black with a finger of creamy tan head. Smells of rich chocolate and bourbon, with hints of vanilla as it warms. Taste is chocolate bourbon, literally. Full-bodied with a thick, smooth, creamy texture and super soft mouth-carbonation, Karbach (Buffalo Trace) Bourbon Barrel Aged Hellfighter finishes with a light warming bourbon alcohol effect.

4.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 20/20
This is the best porter that i have ever tried, the only other porter that comes close in my opinion is the 512 Bourbon Barrel Pecan Porter. The beer has strong hints of a fine bourbon, hints of chocolate, and has a smoky aroma. Try this while it is available you will be pleased.

Midnight dark beer w/ moonlight white head. smell of bourbon, leather an biscuit. Taste of toffee and coffee with a sweet bourbon and a light bitterness and carmel after taste. Over all one of my favorites from Karbach and a great set on the couch and relax beers.

Houston, we have a winner. This stuff is AMAZING. Pours a perfect black with a thick head of beige. Aroma is bourbon, bourboned wood, caramel, and light vanilla. Flavor is bourbon, bourboned wood, caramel, a little more bourbon, and a little more wood, with a touch of toffee in the finish. Thick and lingering on the tongue. Holy moly. This is AWESOME.

Ah, that’s the stuff! Plenty of oak and vanilla from the bourbon enhancing the coffee and caramel of the base porter. Especially welcome after the relative disappointment of Pontificator.
