Location: 12 oz cans from a random Wallgreens in Houston, 4/23/14

Aroma: The nose is Belgian yeast and spice, floral notes, and some fruity notes as well
Appearance: It pours a cloudy golden color with a white head and some fairly heavy lace
Flavor: The taste is much the same, lots of spice, yeast, and some light bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, it has a tingly feel, average carbonation, and a mid-dry finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was a pretty solid, spice-forward Saison. It was no surprise to me that Karbach handled this style well, as I feel like they do an excellent job with most of their beers.

12 ounce can thanks to errl. Pours a hazy gold with a white head that diminishes quickly. Aroma has a lot of banana and a touch of lemon zest. Some wheaty notes come through nicely as well. Taste is sweet banana with just a hint at dryness in the finish. Pretty tasty. Reminds me of banana ice cream.

Can from BMart. Murky gold with a lasting white head. Funky and barnyard straw aroma, with citrusy esters, light clove, and wheat. This smells like a German Hefeweizen. The flavor offers a healthy dose of herbal and coriander spice, to go with citrusy melon and orange sweetness, grass, and some yeast. The finish is a bit odd; not sure if that’s the yeast, spice, or something else. Moderately refreshing but a bit sticky. This is solid but it’s a little too heavy, for this style, for me to really like it.
