Black w light brown head. Nose is of bourbon, spices, nutmeg. Taste is of roast malt, spices, bourbon. Mouthfeel is medium-thin with mouth-coating aftertaste. This is their Yule Shoot your Eye Out aged in bourbon barrel and is much better in this fashion.

22oz bottle in a tulip. Pours dark brown with a lacy, tan head. Aroma of spices, dark malts, light oak and alcohol, and off-notes. Flavor the same, pretty weird. Average texture. Weird, maybe others would like it.

008. Not really my cup if tea. Very strong christmas spices, and I personally didn't really get much from the barrel. Wasn't bad, but not for me. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I’m a bit letdown and confused. It’s a seasonal brew but when you put it next to the popular Yule Shoot Yer Eye Out! i’m not sure what the difference is. Dark, espresso hue. Thin head. Little to no lace on the glass. Raisin, sweet coffee taste. I detect a bit of cinnamon. Has a body but the aftertaste is not agreeable. Lacks a kick and the semi-boozyness overpowers the sweet. So it’s like defeating the purpose of a seasonal brew in the first place. Sad to say but it’s kinda boring. It should be more hazy but it’s just plain lazy.

008 from HEB Buffalo Spdwy. Aroma is spicy and malty. Taste is much to spicy for my liking (spicy as in seasonal, not hot spicy). An OK beer.

5K backlog. Shared by Jcwattsrugger. Pours dark walnut with tan head. Nose and taste of nutmeg, cinnamon, bourbon, cardamom, orange peel, oak, vanilla, black walnut, chocolate, rye and a touch of smoked jerky. Medium body. Nice complexity.

Nice pour. Fast dissipating tan head. Leaves amazing lacing down the tulip. Smells of gingerbread, nutmeg, allspice. No bourbon on the nose but the taste is well rounded by the BBA’d influence. Lingering boozy whiskey finish with caramel, gingerbread and vanilla.

22oz bottle thanks to Mar. Reddish brown brew with some off-white head. Nose is spices, oak, dark fruit, vanilla, and bourbon. Lots of vanilla and spice in the flavor.

Bottle, reviewed from notes, tasted 12/24/2012. Pours dark brown, nearly black, creamy head, nice retention. Aroma is chocolate brownie, slight grassy herbal quality, vanilla, dark grained bread, caramel bourbon. Taste is cinnamon and pumpkin spices, roasted malts, light coffee and chocolate, bourbon finish. Smooth, thick palate, very drinkable. Nice, more complex than Yule Shoot Your Eye Out, and my favorite of the two.
