On cask at Sugarland Flying Saucer. I have yet to try an IPA on cask that I like better than the keg. I compared this (in pints) side by side against Endeavor and Maharaja. They all look almost identical in the glass. Hop Delusion is is full of fruit and pine, but (this cask version at least) is not as hoppy and citrusy as Endeavor. This version lacks the hop punch I love in a IIPA. It’s still good, and I look forward to doing the same comparison when I find it on keg instead of cask. Bring on the Valkyrie, Southern Star! I think you’ll have a winner for best IIPA produced in the Houston area and perhaps beyond.

Thanks to Don for this. Pours hazy dark gold with a small frothy off white top. Aroma is big grapefruit and pine hops. Taste is a nice resinous dank grapefruit hop bitterness. Bite is brought down by the sweetness from the malt. nice beer but feels big.

Fantastic Imperial IPA. Love the Simcoe - Mosaic combination that would make Hatch Green Chili pepper lovers rejoice! Balanced malt and citrus flavors evolve into a big smile on your face. Only improvement would be to the aroma which simply doesn’t match the palate party that ensues.

12 oz. can. Shared with multiple others at brew club. Pours a short lived, ivory head, over a clear light amber (SRM 6) body.....nose is heavy pine, resin, grapefruit peel, light cereal malts, no esters, hops dominant......taste is slightly floral sweet, with light toasted malts, heavy pine, resin, moderate lingering bitterness,........mouth feel, medium body, sticky, light alcohol. The hops are utterly dominant. The malt back bone needs rework to improve. It is hard to believe it is the 9% ABV per the breweries website, but the dominant hops are hiding it. BJCP 8/3/14/4/7

Pours a slightly hazy golden orange from the can with fluffy off-white head that leaves good lace. Aroma of sweet citrus and zesty earth, like garlic or green pepper. Taste follows, a bit of booze and malt behind it. Interesting hop choices, not bad overall though.
