Had on draft @ the Gingerman before a tasting, was told it was 8.5%, but that seemed odd .. . has a nice bitterness . . caramel is the main player .. . quite a nice marzen .. . . but now the ties are motionless...

Tap at Flying Saucer, Sugarl Land.
Pours a beautiful glassy amber with a nose of sweet malt syrup on a piece of toast. Flavor is malty and wet autumn leaves with a seltzer/mineral water finish. Average mouthfeel. Not bad.

On tap at The Hay Merchant. Pours a clear amber with medium off white head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is a bready malt, caramel, and toast. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet caramel malt and raisin with sweet finish. A good marzen from Karbach.

Not my favorite...call me crazy but there's a cigar taste to the beer. Aroma is marginal, appearance consistent with the märzen style beer and adequate mouthfeel. Taste here though lacks depth, and that's driving my overall score.

Tap @ Porch Swing Pub. Clear burnt orange with a bit of white head. Toasted malt, biscuit, caramel, finishes lightly bittersweet. Very drinkable.

On tap at Sugar Land Saucer. Clear brownish-amber with an off-white head. Toasty, nutty, sweetish caramel aroma and rich malty taste with what seems to be a relatively high abv for the style. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Pretty good marzen.
