12 oz. can from a sixer- poured a solid orange color with light tint of yellow color, light aroma of malt- and that’s about it. Solid white 3 finger head formed, and did lace nicely upon the vessel. Hits the mouth with a light body, malt is very weak for the style, finish is rather non-remember able. Only rate for this month, but I’m trying something different... and I don’t have any money, so...

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Light caramel malty nose. Darker amber color, looks crisp. Semisweet malty taste, light bitterness. Medium carbonation, gassed but not filling. Thought this was the Vienna, nice enough but classed wrong.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Light amber with small fast fading head. Smells and tastes of caramel malts with that marzen way about it but on a lighter side. So not the best Oktoberfest brew out there but still not terrible but since this one was on sale it’s all good.

While this does not compare to the fantastic Oktoberfests that originate from Europe, this is a great representation of the style for something that comes from Texas! This can dominates my fridge when it comes out every year!

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at the Wurstfest. The look is brown, beige colored head, and mostly clear. The smell is malty, dusty, cereal, grain, and ok. The taste is much the same, ok crispness, malty richness.

Tap at the brewery. Pours a solid copper color. Aroma is nice and malty, notes of honey and caramel. Nice fallish aroma. Taste is much of the same, light grains and malts with faint caramel and honey an very light roast. Not bad! Palate is well carbonated, light to medium body. Enjoyable, but not spectacular.

I do wish Americans who make American craft "Oktoberfest" beers would go to the actual Oktoberfest in Munchen. I grew up there, so…. If karbach could replicate the color, nose, head, lacing, mouth feel, and flavor of Oktoberfest beers served at Oktoberfest Wies’n they’d really have a winner. This one pours amber (Big 6 I in Munchen pour golden); no head (Big 6 pour 3 finger head); and has the nosing and taste characteristics of Old Milwaukee, Schlitz, and Milwaukee’s best. I know Karbach can do better because I have tasted their other beer. Karbachtoberfest stands out as an adjunct filler beer. Better than Bud, Miller, Coors….but not by much
