This was hands down the best lager I have ever had. This poured a muddy brown with white frothy head. The flavor had almost a rootbeer hue to it. I really liked it alot.

Pours dark. Light head. Light body. No lacing. Decent flavor. Not bad for a winter seasonal.

I was very surprised by the Mother in Lager beer. The beer had a smooth taste without the bitter or tart aftertaste found in other dark beers. I also found the beer to be less filling than the other dark beers. Mother in lager has now become the main beer in my refrigerator.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Can, thanks to Nick. Clear brown/ruby, short lived khaki head. Aroma of caramel, toast, toffee. Taste: moderate sweetness, caramel, malt-driven, light bitterness. Palate: light+ body, average carbonation. Overall: sorta nondescript malty lager.

Brown brew with fast dying head. Yep this is a dark lager and I am not much of a lager fan, especially dark lagers. As usual it smells like chocolate malts that would be expected from a good stout. Well have to give this one bonus on flavor. The mix of malts used makes the chocolate not so over the top and makes this one fairly drinkable. Not the heavy grime feel over the tongue that is typical of others I have had. Decent brew and that suprised me.

Sample at Beerfoot. Reddish-brown color with a medium foamy light beige head that recedes gradually. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt and hops. Light to medium body with flavors of bready malt, chocolate and earthy hops. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

Clear dark brown, big toffee head. Nose is hint coco, chocolate malt. Lightly bittersweet. Middle is creamy dark roasted malt with a hint of vanilla. Finish is long and soft with spicy hops echoing distantly around your tongue.

Canned in Htown. Brown pour, nice hint of malts, pretty clean finish. A very nice dunkel IMO.

Extra from Errl...Sometimes do these breweries just come up with a name before the beer? Reddish brown, with a pillowy head. Some caramel sweetness. uber simple, but clean enough.

12 oz. can from a pal in Texas - thanks again, Brian! Pours a deep brownish amber with a finger of off-white head that settles into a big ring. Aroma of chocolate, root beer, Munich malts, leaves, earth, and some muddled spice. Flavor of spice, leaves, root beer, and a huge slate of different malts - chocolate, toast, Munich, amber. Light-medium bodied, with a sweet, malty, spicy mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Odd beer.

Black patent. Wow. Smells like enough grain to start a farm. Brown and hazy with a decent head. Lots of chalky cocoa in the flavor not a bad dark lager. Acually has the fullness of an ale.
