It’s a job. And a hazardous one at that. Benefits, you ask? I hardly think so. But the show must go on. So, it’s with bravado that the Rodeo Clown takes his place in the arena lights. Whether or not he’s insane is not important right now. It’s with grit and intensity that the Clown steps in the path of almost certain destruction. Our Double IPA is much the same. At 9.5% ABV, Rodeo Clown Double IPA coats the tongue in bitterness and packs a punch that will knock a bull on its ass . Intense and maybe a little insane drink carefully, but drink often. Ladies and Gentlemen, let the show begin.

Pours dark with white head. Very strong bitterness. It grows on you though. This beer is decent but too overwhelming without anything to balance it out.,

Poured copper in color, moderately sized head. Sweet hopped aroma. I liked the warm, ripe fruitiness that carried the load alongside the bitterness. Medium bodied with notes of prune in the finish.

Draft at Flying Saucer Ft Worth. It has all the visuals. There’s a rusty aroma and the flavor tilts toward the metallic, with bit of woodsy undertow. Clean and good but doesn’t stand out in a crowded field. (#6058, 11/8/2015)

A reddish copper ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet caramel, light treacle malt with grassy floral hops, alcohol warmth, OK. In mouth, a sweet caramel malt with resinous floral hops, grapefruit pulp, light treacle, pleasant. On tap at brewery.

12 oz can from my secret santa. Thanks man! Pours a reddish amber with a minimal off white head. Sparse lacing. Aroma of citrus, pine, and mild booze. Flavor is malty, bitter, with lots of citrus and booze notes. Full bodied, above average carbonation. Finishes boozy and bitter. Pretty good.

Poured from the can into a pint glass -- Pretty looking IPA: gold and foam. Tastes really good. Love me some Texas gold.

Can. A hazy amber beer with a huge yellowish head. The aroma has notes of lemons, caramel, malt, hops, and over ripe fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of over ripe fruits, caramel, malt, hops, and a bit of alcohol, leading to a bitter finish.
