Very foggy, bright orangey gold, big fluffy white head. Generally nice, spicy wheat aroma. Lightly spicy, yeasty, very very light diacetyl, very light powdered sugar sweetness, low bittering. Mild banana, bit-o-honey flavors as it warms. Medium-light mouthfeel. Very refreshing on a hot indian summer afternoon in Houston. On tap, Hay Merchant.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Long road trip to Texas. Upon arriving at a friend’s place, a sixer of this beer awaiting me and my wife. Very thoughtful.
The beer is hazy and pale yellow. An inch of head rapidly fades to but a thin wispy layer. The aroma and flavor are both a bit off. Overly sweetened, with abundant pilsner malt and/or cereal grain character. Metallic and harsh on the palate. One was more than enough. Not again.

Pours a medium yellow. Love the name. First I get the wheat notes. Grain is foremost. But I also pick up a slight vanilla and banana set of notes as well. Would be a great summer beer here in LA. Brewers Association dinner at The Tasting Kitchen in Venice.

Tap. The look is clear, decent foaming white head, and pretty clear. The smell is wheat, clove, spice, yeast, and banana bread. The taste is all the same. Just ok.

I was turned on to this gem while visiting family in Houston. Picked up a six pack from Spec’s. I wanted something that can only be bought in Texas, so I was recommended this. NOT bitter, as from my understanding banana is used in the brewing process so there is just a tiny hint of sweetness and maybe a bit of nuttiness as well.

Karbach Weisse Versa Wheat has a thick, creamy, off-white head and a very bold, golden appearance, with relatively large brown chunks and relatively tiny white chunks suspended throughout the beer. There are lots of tight bubble streams and decent lacing. The aroma is of banana pudding, white bread, and powdered sugar. Taste is of coriander, slight banana, and Sunbeam brand white bread, with some background bread crust and underlying, yet faint, banana notes. Mouthfeel is watery and slick, and Karbach Weisse Versa finishes mostly dry, refreshing, and easily drinkable. Overall, for a wheat, this is a winner. RJT

Not too bad for a Karbach. Overly sweet in my opinion, but it has the requisite coriander and orange peel. Tried in Houston in 2013.

Good weisse. Nice look. Slightly filtered but not cloudy. Aroma is delicious, oranges. Taste is a bit flat, but overall pretty solid.

Can at BTBF. Pours with a hazed golden hued body with a medium sized white head with some retention. Aromas are of isoamyl acetate, malty/bread, 4vg clove phenols, medium citrus and some other spice that I cannot place that seems strange in what I thought was a hefe. Flavors are grainy, bready wheat. Malt forward and a bit heavy. Strong phenolic 4VG clove and coriander. Lively carbonation, off-dry.
