4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A combination of two of my favorite styles: Belgian white and hefeweizen. Karbach got this one right. Perfect balance of these two complementary styles.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Orange and hazy, head and lace are ok but not great.
Aroma is real nice, yeasty and clovey, wheaty. Flavor also nice, certainly has aspects of both wheat beers, hefs and wits, cloves, a smidge of banana, a little spice, ample wheat.
Body is pretty thick and chewy, good for the style.
I continue to enjoy Karbach’s beers as I try them. Another tasty one.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Can:   Pale orange, hazy, thin sudsy off-white head, spotty lacing.   Wheaty nose, slight banana, a little bit of melon.   Soft sweetness up front, fruity, a touch of bubblegum, but with only a moderate wheaty background.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Soft fruity wheaty finish.   More interesting than most, but the wheaty aspect isn’t too strong.   Has some good aspects, but wished it actually were a bit more wheaty.   Decent otherwise.   Thanks Bill!

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Can. Pours a hazy, pale gold with a high, crumpet-like pale head. Nose is typical of the style -- not getting a lot of the tropical fruit, though; it’s much more spice and grain forward. Quite sweet on the front of the tongue, with some fruity esters. There’s the banana, along with apricot and papaya; it seems a little flat, however. There’s just not as much punch to it as I’d like, for some reasons. Finish sticks around, but is unremarkable. It’s all right, but just all right.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Very foggy, bright orangey gold, big fluffy white head. Generally nice, spicy wheat aroma. Lightly spicy, yeasty, very very light diacetyl, very light powdered sugar sweetness, low bittering. Mild banana, bit-o-honey flavors as it warms. Medium-light mouthfeel. Very refreshing on a hot indian summer afternoon in Houston. On tap, Hay Merchant.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Long road trip to Texas. Upon arriving at a friend’s place, a sixer of this beer awaiting me and my wife. Very thoughtful.
The beer is hazy and pale yellow. An inch of head rapidly fades to but a thin wispy layer. The aroma and flavor are both a bit off. Overly sweetened, with abundant pilsner malt and/or cereal grain character. Metallic and harsh on the palate. One was more than enough. Not again.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a medium yellow. Love the name. First I get the wheat notes. Grain is foremost. But I also pick up a slight vanilla and banana set of notes as well. Would be a great summer beer here in LA. Brewers Association dinner at The Tasting Kitchen in Venice.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap. The look is clear, decent foaming white head, and pretty clear. The smell is wheat, clove, spice, yeast, and banana bread. The taste is all the same. Just ok.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
I was turned on to this gem while visiting family in Houston. Picked up a six pack from Spec’s. I wanted something that can only be bought in Texas, so I was recommended this. NOT bitter, as from my understanding banana is used in the brewing process so there is just a tiny hint of sweetness and maybe a bit of nuttiness as well.
