2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Double sample flight@source during FMG delegation visit 5ix13. Slightly watery and hence non-descript sweetish sessionable amber ale with more of a toasted malt and diluted caramel than hop presence. Above brewpub average, but for this type will have to stick to UK & BE ambers, whose yeasts had time to give some character to their malts ..

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On draught at the Karben4 brewery’s taproom in northern Madison, Wisconsin. Pours a clear copper colored brew with a creamy beige head that slowly dissipates to an off-white ring and spotty lacing. Aroma of toasted caramel malts, some crystal and citrus hops and a hint of roasted nuts. Taste is medium bodied, average carbonation with flavors of toasted biscuity malts, crystal hops and a hint of citrus. Finish has a short spicy hop bite then a lingering mild hop aftertaste with some toasted caramel malt.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at the brewpub - Pours clear amber with a thin white head. Not pungent at all on the nose--it’s nutty with lightly dry bread. Not much hopping to speak of. Taste is pretty nutty, with dry bread, very subtle hopping and some mineral notes on the finish. Thinnish and well-carbonated. Very drinkable.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at the brewpub’s soft opening (again). Pours clear amber, small white head. Lively carbonation, I can already tell. Slight citrus notes on the nose, heavy, grainy malt bill. Heavily biscuit-forward. Clean taste, mild hop bite in the middle, crisp finish. Not a helluva lot going on, but decent. Would love this on cask someday.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at brewpub, pours a clear amber red with a very thin bubbly head, lots of carbonation in this one as a ton of tiny bubbles dance through out the entire glass, the aroma has a sweet touch with a little bit of fruit mixed in with the malt, the flavor has a nice amount of malt and caramel with a tad bit of hops in the finish, clean and crisp through out and is extremely drinkable, I could see myself drinking this a lot when its warmer out, nice.
