COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The amber you’ve always wanted. Crisp and clean, but full of flavor: milk caramel, toasted biscuit and sweet wheat. A medium-bodied brew that has character yet remains and all-game drinker that always satisfies, never disappoints, and plays well with many types of foods.

Sample at the brewpub. Clear dark amber color with a medium light beige head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, caramel and slight hops. Light body with flavors of bready malt, caramel and earthy hops. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

Double sample flight@source during FMG delegation visit 5ix13. Slightly watery and hence non-descript sweetish sessionable amber ale with more of a toasted malt and diluted caramel than hop presence. Above brewpub average, but for this type will have to stick to UK & BE ambers, whose yeasts had time to give some character to their malts ..

On draught at the Karben4 brewery’s taproom in northern Madison, Wisconsin. Pours a clear copper colored brew with a creamy beige head that slowly dissipates to an off-white ring and spotty lacing. Aroma of toasted caramel malts, some crystal and citrus hops and a hint of roasted nuts. Taste is medium bodied, average carbonation with flavors of toasted biscuity malts, crystal hops and a hint of citrus. Finish has a short spicy hop bite then a lingering mild hop aftertaste with some toasted caramel malt.

madvike (2917) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 18, 2013
On tap at the brewpub - Pours clear amber with a thin white head. Not pungent at all on the nose--it’s nutty with lightly dry bread. Not much hopping to speak of. Taste is pretty nutty, with dry bread, very subtle hopping and some mineral notes on the finish. Thinnish and well-carbonated. Very drinkable.
