COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Robust all day without dictating your life, this is the porter that other dark beers hang a poster on their own bedroom wall. Malt sweetness is just present enough to enhance the dark chocolate and roasted coffee flavors without destroying the drinkability. This brew provides a subtle smoke profile that simultaneously creates new fans of dark beer and tames the beast inside the bold-beer aficionado.

[Tap] Deep brown in color with little head. Nice lacing clings to the glass. Nose of cocoa, coffee and faint hints of smoked meats. Toasted grains, chocolate malts, weak coffee grounds, wood smoke, peat, sweet toffee and earthy notes in the flavor. Smooth. A nice brew. Tasting notes from 8/2014.

On tap at the source. Pour is very dark brown with a brown head. Smoky chocolate, caramel. The smoke goes in and out in the flavor, but the choco/caramel is solid. Yum! 14.8

On tap. Beautiful dark brown/black. Not much aroma, but flavor was smoky, meaty, and rich. Palate was smooth. Easy to drink, all the way to the last drop. Not too heavy and the flavor was consistent without being oppressive.

Black to brown pour. Nose of roasted malt, mild fruit esters, and fleeting smoke. Flavor is soft, gritty roasted malt withsome dark fruit and slightly more noticeable smoke and charcoal. Very enjoyable.

Dogbrick (9181) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - AUG 23, 2014
Sample at the brewpub. Dark brown color with a thin dense tan head that diminishes gradually. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of smoked malt, coffee and chocolate. Light-bodied with flavors of charred malt, dark chocolate and coffee. The finish is mildly smoky with a burnt malt aftertaste. Not sure if it is a reference to the Kavinsky song, but an above average beer overall.

On tap. Nice dark black color with a tan head. Mild roasty aroma. Great balanced roasted flavor with sweet dark chocolate. Smooth and creamy with a long roasted finish. This is a very good and drinkable porter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: JAN 26, 2014 Dark beer and was expecting more bitter, but surprised by a mellow Stout with major chocolate overtones.
