COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Quaffing this brew is like sticking your face into a box of Fruit Loops. English golden and Bohemian pilsner malt combine with three types of rye to offer just enough malt sophistication to provide a glass-smooth mouthfeel while contemplating, rather than competing with, the distinct and intensely flavorful resume of bright citrus hops. Liquid Perfect.

Tap at Karben4. Amber-orange-tan body. Frothy, thin white head. Toasty rye, graham cracker, with a burnt resinous undertone. Well balanced, quality ingredients and execution. Solid offering.

Double sample flight@source during FMG delegation visit 5ix13. Clean rye biscuit of a Bohemian-inflected APA with sweetish malt notes, more like a heavier vienna. Neatly tied-in ?Saaz hops. Nicely brewed and doubtlessly sessionable, but failed to make a connection with this EU-grounded palate this particular night. Willing to re-evaluate when bottled any time...

pantanap (3366) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 6, 2013
On tap at Tipsy Cow, Madison... Pours a caramel orange hue, somewhat transparent, and topped with a creamy white to barely off-white head... Aroma of mild citrus and floral notes upfront backed by some caramel and bready undertones. Ok... Crisp citrus and bready notes, semi-sweet on the onset but a mild bitter note soon follows curtailing that. Medium bodied with adequate carbonation. Not bad. Flavors trump the aroma. Drinks easy enough.

Draft at the brewpub. Nice amber appeal, drinks with a gristy but not gritty character. Drinks with a citrus flourish with an added bit of wheat-like chewiness and an orange-rind finish. (#5106, 7/2/2013)

On tap at Karben4. Deep golden red. Citrus aroma, well balanced with spice of rye. The hops doesn?t over power the rye as is often the case.

On tap at Karben4. Amber with a creamy tan head that fades away slowly. Aroma is fruity and sweet with caramel, rye and some citrus. Taste of heavier rye, floral hops, mild citrus and woodsy hops, caramel and finishes up moderately bitter.

A golden ale with a thick frothy mocha head. In aroma, beautiful mix of piney floral hops, citrus notes, rye and clover grass. In mouth, classic caramel with floral hops, citrus, rich and smooth. On tap at Istmus Beer and Cheese Fest, Jan 19 2012.

ON draught at the Karben4 brewery taproom in Madison, Wisconsin. Pours a clear bright copper brown colored brew with a creamy off-white head that slowly dissipates and leaves behind some excellent lacing. Aroma of malty caramel, some light toffee and a hint of brown sugar. Taste is where the rye malt is more pronounced. Medium bodied, with caramel, rye and a little spicy hops. Finish is semi-sweet with a short spicy hop bite followed by some English mild dry hop presence. Fruit Loops? Did not detect that but maybe with some extra coriander may bring that out but I wouldn’t change a thing with this rye pale ale.
