(bottle) Hazy, dark amber colour with a mid-sized off-white foamy head. Bready and toasty malt aroma with caramel, light fruity banana notes and only traces of cloves. Wheaty taste with caramel and a balanced fruitiness. Initially sweet, later slightly tart flavour; malty, slightly fruity and dense clovy finish. Well-balanced and fine Dunkelweizen.

This was good, more Dark than in the picture. The foam was good, the flavour and the aroma, nice, cold enough, the after taste is a little sweet and the cloudy is different.

Toffee aroma. Sweetish caramelly flavor with mandarin and banana. Thinnish. Hint of yoghurt. Thirst quencher.

(Draught at GBBF, London, 3 Aug) Colour is pale brown with a beige head. Nose is fruity with a wheaty character and notes of banana, chocolate and clove. Taste has a bittersweet wheat character and notes of banana, vanilla and chocolate (nice banana and chocolate ice-cream taste). Well balanced and nice, but lacking something extra.

Bottled. Amber coloured. Murky. Light brown dense head. Sweet, yeasty and light spiced banana aroma. Flavour is citric, yeasty and has banana notes. Quite bland. Thin bodied and watery. Sweet yeasty end.

UPDATED: APR 6, 2007 A Sim Rate (Draught at GBBF): Smells like chocolate brownies and wheat. Not a bad combination. Taste is bland. Like it should be chocolate cake, but it’s only vanilla.

Draught @ Reading Beer Festival 2006. Muddy. Cold fizzy palate mutes some flavours. Citric spice and fruity yeast aromas lead into an almopst sour finish.

Draught - Reading BF. A very very murky diarrhoea coloured dunkelweizen with an off-white head. The aroma is really nice with bananas and toffee as expected. The taste is more of the same: smooth and good bodied. Decent.

Reading BF 2006. Murky look to it. Wheaty, typically sweet aroma. Sweet flavoured with an odd irony metallic edge to it. Banana abundant.
