Previously known as "Schwarzer Woipertinger".
Wie ein Woipertinger hat das dunkle Weißbier von Vielen etwas, zum spritzig blumigen Weißbieraroma kommt auch noch eine malzige, süßliche Komponente dazu.

On tap at Battersea Beer Festival 2006. Dirty brown with hints of gold. Not the world’s most attractive beer. Lemoney/vinegar aroma with some bubblegum. Really quite a nice dunkel weiss. The lemon is really noticeable throughout. Good finish

Huge, spicy, clove and banana esters with, doughy, bready and raw wheat notes to the aroma. Cloudy copper-brown body with a decent and fine-bubbled, cream coloured head that lasts very well and leaves some lace. Banana and cloves in the somewhat sweaty, bready flavour. Medium body with lively prickly carbonation that engages the tongue and awakens the tastebuds. Bottle shared with Ungstrup at GBBF 2005.

Bottled. Cloudy, hazy brown colour. Medium to small head. Malty aroma with cloves, a little banana and milk-chocolate. Slightly malty, spicy cloves. A hint of chocolate. Mediumbodied. Leaves a bitter and malty aftertaste. A good dunkelweizen, for sure. Thanks to joss for this.

Bottle. Hazy brown with a big off-white head that lasts until the last drop. Aromas are sweet and malty with banana, spices and sugar. Flavours are sweet and malty with cocao powder, banana, vanilla and spices. Some metallic hops on the finish. Malty, but lacks real depth of character.

Cloudy chestnut, creamy tanned head. Slightly metallic clove aroma on top of roast. Banana bubblegum base, somewhat lightbodied - plentifull burpy carbonation.

A very spicy dunkel. Lots of cloves. Some of that banana taste in the aftertaste. Also a nice yeast finish and a bit bitterness. This was a pretty nice beer, better than i first thought.

Bottle. Spicy (clove/pepper) banana aroma. Cloudy dark tan color with medium head. Initial taste of sour malt with slight clove and bananas in the middle and a very nice yeast finish. Nice body. A nice dunkelweizen if you don’t like sweet flavors.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Cloudy, dark brown colour with a generous light brown/off-white head. Aroma is sour apples and banana. Nice complex taste; fruity, bananas, some caramel. Sweet then sour. Lovely, prolonged slightly yeasty aftertaste. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Very nice; a class Dunkles.

A pleasant enough wheat beer with a strong fruity banana character and a touch of toffee in the flavour. However, it is not very dark in colour and there’s not a lot of malt character, so it drinks more like a "normal" hefeweizen than a dunkel, so I guess it should lose a point for not being very true to style. Soft and easy-drinking although the sweetness starts to grate after a while, albeit tempered by a slightly acidic edge on the finish. Bottled at GBBF 2004.
