Previously known as "Schwarzer Woipertinger".
Wie ein Woipertinger hat das dunkle Weißbier von Vielen etwas, zum spritzig blumigen Weißbieraroma kommt auch noch eine malzige, süßliche Komponente dazu.

Bottle. Spicy (clove/pepper) banana aroma. Cloudy dark tan color with medium head. Initial taste of sour malt with slight clove and bananas in the middle and a very nice yeast finish. Nice body. A nice dunkelweizen if you don’t like sweet flavors.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Cloudy, dark brown colour with a generous light brown/off-white head. Aroma is sour apples and banana. Nice complex taste; fruity, bananas, some caramel. Sweet then sour. Lovely, prolonged slightly yeasty aftertaste. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Very nice; a class Dunkles.

A pleasant enough wheat beer with a strong fruity banana character and a touch of toffee in the flavour. However, it is not very dark in colour and there’s not a lot of malt character, so it drinks more like a "normal" hefeweizen than a dunkel, so I guess it should lose a point for not being very true to style. Soft and easy-drinking although the sweetness starts to grate after a while, albeit tempered by a slightly acidic edge on the finish. Bottled at GBBF 2004.

UPDATED: FEB 11, 2006 Bottle. Yeasty, with a tart acidity, with the typical banana and clove, slightly salty, with a touch of brown sugar, soft, dry finish, wheat and banana esters come through. not too bad. Typical dunkel weiss, but an above average one. Tap@Battersea Beer Festival. like it, sourish/acidic, lemon, with some nice touches of estery banana and clove/

UPDATED: MAR 8, 2004 Bottle, at the Swan and Rushes, Leicester. Excellent Dunkel (or is it hefeweizen?), which is remarkably complex for the style. Plenty of sourish, appley, fruit flavour in here, with a delicious lingering yeasty aftertaste. This is ruddy, hazy, brown colour, with a big fluffy head. It's light and very moreish.

Bottled, served at the brewery restaurant. Very large, rocky off-white head, light brown colour, cloudy. Head mostly lasting, good lacing. Aroma of ripe fruit (apple, banana, pear), clove, on a base of toasted malt. Light yeasty. Flavor is initial sweet, light refreshing tartness in the finish. Medium body, oily, lively carbonation.

Bubble gum aroma and a slightly sweet flavour. A pleasant beer but slightly lacking in certain categories.

Bottle conditioned. Chestnut coloured with a low head and condition and swimming with big chunks of yeast. Spicy banana and plastic/phenols in the nose, hints of roasted malt and plums in the mouth and a chalky sweet finish.

The-beer-with-the-longest-name-so-far isn´t that much to write home about. Hazy brown beer. Sourish aroma that reminds me of the solution you have pickled hearing in. Sourish flavor.
