UPDATED: DEC 28, 2012 Top beer! Picked one up in The Brauhaus, Edinburgh. Pours a lovely dark gold body with a lovely white head. Wonderfully yeasty and a strong, developed taste. A must try!

Bottle. A very malty aroma - mild banana, lemon, and clove. Tannish yellow cloudy color with ample head. Slightly tart malt flavor primarily - light banana. Full bodied. Nice - not nearly as sweet as many Weizens.

Very special Weizen, not for everyone, but worth a try! Amber colour, unfiltered. Astonishing earthy hints of Jerusalem artichoke on top of pepper, clove, ripe banana / Maraschino cherry aroma, wheat and brown butter (!) in the finish. Slightly alcoholic nose. More bitter and dry than one would expect. Tangy carbonation, just right for my taste. Not "pleasant" for Weizen newbs, but a welcome deviation from the average for the experienced aficionado :)

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Cloudy, dark orange colour with large white head. Aroma is fresh, wheaty, slight bananas, slight cloves. Taste is refreshing and immediately very drinkable. Very slightly citrusy, other fruit in there apple perhaps. A slightly sour aftertaste. Light bodied. Above average hefeweizen.

Had this at the brewery in Murnau Very nice fresh weissbier. Great aroma with clove, banana and bubble gum, even lychee fruit. I stumbled upon this place while walking the city and wish I had more time to try the other beers.

Good example of a Southern German Weissbier. Lots of banana and clove aromas and plenty of condition. Slightly darker than most but not as dark as Maisels.

Smells strongly of banana and is of an almost orange juice appearance. A good wheat beer with a nice bitterness on the palate. More raters should try this!

Pours a very cloudy amber color with a fluffy white head that falls down to almost nothing. Aroma is very complex with notes of orange citrus, banana fruit pulp, modest clove spice, lots of yeasty character and a wheat note that isn’t dominate but does show up very smoothly. Beer starts off with a mild orange and wheat flavor that moves into a pretty spicy clove middle and finishes with a mild smooth sweetness. Body on this brew is fairly heavy due to the huge amount of yeast that lends a very creamy texture while you drink. Overall I am normally not a fan of the hefe style but this is really what hefes should be like. Sweet, slightly spicy and a mouthful due to the high density of yeast in your glass. Great brew.
