jimhilt (1397), Bow, New Hampshire, USA Jul 26, 2008 Pours a one finger white head that fades quickly, leaving a trace of lace. Crystal clear amber color. Light-medium carbonation and light-medium bodied. Hoppy nose. Flavor is one-dimensional remarkably similar to American macros. 330ml bottle €3.50 restaurant in Rovaniemen, Finland. From my notes - 7/11/2008. Archibaldo de la Cruz (59), Finland Jul 26, 2008 Can. Pours a golden colour with a thin head. The aroma is very light with hint malt. The flavour is also very light, notes of malt and some bitterness. Nothing special, better than most of the Finnish bulk lagers, but not much more. Kavu (63), Jyväskylä, Finland Jun 18, 2008 Although it’s praised by many, I can’t make any difference between Karhu and rest of the finnish lagers. Looks, smells and tastes painfully ordinary. Drinkable but nothing special. wunderbier (1266), Tampere, Rovaniemi over summer, Finland Jun 1, 2008 Pale gold with a scant froth. Faint elements of corn and hay find sharp butter and sulphur notes poking through. Minimal flavour of sweetcorn and straw decays into a softly acidic, limping finish. Frail body, slick, with weak carbonation.
Frustratingly light; flaws stand out against a pale background.
33 cl can, best before 16.04.2009. Tasted blind in a class III showdown, 8th place (of 8). janir (157), Oulu, Finland May 9, 2008 A dark golden color, thin white head. Aroma is some kind of berry, much sweet malty and a bit hoppy. Sweet malty flavor and slighlty hoppy finish. Light-bodied palate is a bit carbonated, bit watery too.
