4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 ilves (30) - FINLAND - AUG 14, 2009
Dont drink this beer at home - u could get disappointed. Head for the woods and enjoy it in the wilderness of Finland. It’ s the only way to discover this beer’s real magic! In my opinion one of the best beers worldwide so far but only if consumed in a proper manner!

Bottle@Home. Smoke and toffee aroma. Amber colour, off-white head, good lace. Sweet, bitter, light malty, toffee, smoked. Oily with a dry finish. Clean, easy going, not very complex but balanced. Thx Patrik!
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 PotjeBier (425) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - FEB 22, 2010
33cl bottle. Amber colored. Big head, disappearing quickly. Aroma is smoky, caramel-malty. Flavour caramel-sweet(ish) and smoky. Body rather full for a 6% beer. Subtle bitter finish. The subtle smoke in this beer balances well with the caramel-sweetish flavour. Not bad at all.

In bottle at Craig’s, thanks Franz. A golden rauchbier with a lacy white head. Smoky pea and ham soup nose,. A little sweet. Flavours of sweet caramel and lots of smoked malt. Quite thin but not too shabby.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 mabjork (652) - Vasa, FINLAND - AUG 27, 2010
Bottled. Dark golden in color. The aroma is malty, but modest. the taste is mostly malty. But then, bank, a smoky taste, sweet with an almost dry aftertaste that somehow manages to lubricate the tongue. Yummy!
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Kavu (938) - Jyväskylä, FINLAND - JAN 12, 2009
UPDATED: MAY 3, 2010 Pours darkish brown with a thin head. Aroma has some roasted malts and some smoke, although less than I expected. The flavor is a very easy combination of malts and mild smoke. Rauchbier fans might be insulted but this is my favourite smokebeer yet.
