Karhu Ruis on vahva ja täyteläinen, tumma lager-olut. Luonnollisen samean, suodattamattoman oluen makua ryydittää rukiinen viimeistely. Aromissa voi aistia rukiin tuomaa tumman leivän katkeruutta ja täyteläisyyttä, jota kehittynyt jälkimaku tasapainottaa.

A slightly hazy dark copper-coloured body with a decently lasting tan head. Mild nose with notes of rye bread, mämmi and caramel. Taste is medium sweet with a mild bitter finish. Light carbonation and somewhat watery body. Decent easy drinking rye beer.

24.5.2014. Some bread in aroma. Taste is basic lager but also a bit more malts and bread. Some impurity or sth bothers.

500ml can, hazy medium brown colour with small particles, frothy average mostly dimininshing off-white head, fairly little lacing. Moderate malty aroma of dark bread and straw, light resiny hops and a hint of charcoal. Taste is light acidic and bitter at first, turning into a light bitter average length finish with a chalky feel, light to medium body, watery texture, soft carbonation. Some rye taste and a bit of unfiltered character but all in all a fairly half-assed attempt, have a recollection that the 6% version when it was still available was significantly better.

50cl can, K-Kilpishalli, FI. Off white top, after a minute there’s a layer and ring in the mug. Not totally clear brown beer. Smells sweet malts and rye. Mild taste of malts and rye. Soft carbonated and mild in the mouth. Easy drinkable with a final in mild malts and hints of rye. Overall interesting, but I’ve expected more "ruisrock".

Tämä tuo aika kovastikin mieleen Paulanerin Roggenbierin, ei kuitenkaan aivan yhtä rukiinen tai raikas. Hyvä päänavaus tähän suuntaan, suodattamattomuudesta plussaa.

50cl can from Stockmann Herkku. Pours clear brown with a moderate off-white head. Sweet and malty with notes of caramel and rye. Sweet, watery and fairly weak in flavor. Finishes slightly bitter. Drinkable enough, but quite boring. Reminds me of the industrial low alcohol Christmas beer in Norway.
