wunderbier (1261), Finland Apr 15, 2008 56,8cl can, bbe 21/02/2009. Clear, coppery brown hue accompanied by a firm and frothy off-white head. Slick and malty with aromas of caramel, cookies and toffee. Behind that a salty, brothy essence evenly matched by leafy, dusty hops. Alcohol is apparent, but not overly so. Though there are some bold malts here they feel painted over a thin, papery base. The flavour opens with a raw sugar sweetness, some caramel and broth. Dry, leafy bitterness and cutting alcohol linger into the lengthy finish. Again a feeling of paper thinness is evoked despite the fullish body and lively carbonation. And yet, it’s really not that bad of a beer in the scheme of things. A bit brothy, but no terrible off-flavours, and at least there are some malts and hops to the affair. Sub-average, but drinkable. liinis (477), Finland Apr 7, 2008 Updated: May 9, 2008has to be well chilled.alcohol shines through too much. malty over carbonated.
