Less would be enough. With its rich copper colour Tosi Vahva (Special Strength) Karhu is generously malted and flavoured with the best hops. It is a balanced, special strength and full-bodied beer.

There is a 8.8 % version of this, which is sold in the Tax Free shops on the cruiseships from/to Finland. Ratings should, however, be put under this entry.

Bottle. Copper amber, clear. Nose has sweet malts, corn, lager cleaness. Nutty (peanuts, light nuts), some caramel. Very bock-like. Body is full, malts, alcohol, some corn, some malty sweetness. Hottish finish. Well bittered. Some hoppy remnants. Not overly bad, but a bit too hot. Drinkable still, to my surprise.

330 ml bottle. Pours bit reddish amber colour with mediumsized foamy off-white head. Aroma of metal, malt, hay, mild hops and alcohol. Taste is pretty much the same. Light to medium bodied, high carbonation and oily to watery mouthfeel. Mild fruityness in malty finish. A boring beer.

copper colour and a small white head which disappears quickly. Unable to smell anything from the aroma except maybe a whiff or alcohol and sweetness. taste is sweet malts which lingers slightly, slight alcohol sensation. i’ve had beers more horrible but nothing good about this.

Thanks to tderoeck for the bottle. Amber color, great mouthfeel, well-balanced, I thought. I haven’t had any other beers from this brewery, but I’d like to try based on this beer. Pretty good.
